I can only see the revelation that optical illusions work on cats leading to a field of immensely adorable research. And maybe some material for the schadenfreude thread.

I'm going to need some real heavy duty cuteness for the next couple of days, as the odds are really high that my cat is dead, as he's ~20 years old, in really poor physical condition(has a kidney condition of some sort that was probably going to be the death of him within the next month or two anyways), and disappeared somewhere outside of our house/yard during a brief lull in what has been a pretty intense series of storms around(right now it's pouring like crazy) I'll admit at this point I'm a complete wreck emotionally, I've had him since I was 8(I'm 26) and while I had been prepared for his end to arrive for at least a couple months now, I didn't think it would be like this, in such a horrid way I've lost a friend, a brother, a piece of my very soul today and it hurts, hurts in a way I'm not sure I can handle, the world has become a lot less bright for me

This is Harry He's a half Maine Coon half ginger tom cross my sister stole/rescued/gave better food to and the cat moved in from a house of a couple of substance abusers who really didn't care about Harry at all. He'll jump up and start nibbling your arm if he thinks you're taking too long sorting out his food.

Losing family is always hard, and it's never something you really feel "prepared" for, no matter how long you've known it's coming. I hope this ridiculous maine coon kitten brings you comfort.

I'm visiting my folks for Christmas. I'm not saying the best part of this is petting the doggos, but it is. They're really great doggos. This is my brother's dog, Shooter. He was wandering around feral when my brother found him. He's a very happy doggo who loves to wrestle with toys and get pets. This is Peabody. He's a little pupper my mom picked up at the shelter. He gets awfully cold with his thin fur, so he's wearing a festive sweater. Here he is posing for the ladies. This is Dallas. He's a yellow lab that another family didn't want. They thought he was too rambunctious and energetic. I'm not sure what they were talking about. He's obviously a placid, staid dog of no silliness whatsoever. Completely sober and reserved, is Dallas. Wouldn't dream of getting up to antics. Perfectly serious at all times.
