Right now I have four font files:

- fontNORMAL.otf
- fontITALICS.otf
- fontBOLD.otf
- fontBOLDandITALICS.otf

To apply bold in MS Word, I have to manually select a separate font. How to combine these OTF files so when I click Bold it automatically applies the Bold font?

I know TTF files often do this already, and I can convert these OTF files to TTF (using an application like TransType). But that means the fonts lose anti-aliasing.

Any way to retain antialiasing and still combine a font family?

My parents have an Alexa thing in their house, for playing music, and ... I'm not sure what else. Is this thing at all programmable or configurable? Ideally, I'd like to prevent it from playing songs I hate or just Xmas music in general. Even making it swap something bearable for the worst songs would be an improvement over my brother queuing up hours of Wham and George Michael.

I assume I'm just out of luck, and shorting out their circuit breaker is my best bet, but thought I'd ask first.

Nobody likes George Michael or Wham, my brother just knows I hate it more than most, and so blasts it through the house at every opportunity. I was just trying to avoid the need to beat the poo poo out of him and put him in his place on Xmas day.

Also, I don't know what "dope" is, but if you're trying to say George Michael isn't a scourge on humanity, you need your head examined. I lived through the Wham years, pal, and nobody came through that poo poo unscathed. I've got buddies who still can't hold down a job because of the flashbacks.

One day, this team will play to their expectations...

Just not this year..

If i sell a mutual fund from my Roth IRA that I purchased this year, can I reallocate that money to another fund to replace the sold portion as this year's contribution?

IE I have contributed already $3k of my $5500 to Fund A. Fund A < Fund B. I want to sell that Fund A $3k and buy a full $5500 in Fund B.

Is this allowed?

As long as it stays in a Roth IRA you can invest in any kind of fund your brokerage has. Keep in mind that your total contributions for the year are what matters, not the year end balance where the yearly limit is concerned. Call your brokerage, they can help you get your poo poo in the right place.

Finally got those lawsuit papers I've been dreading for a while :sigh:. Had a question about something on them (and I know no one here's a lawyer, varies by jurisdiction, etc etc): the Defendants are listed as myself plus "DOES 1 through 100; and ROE CORPORATIONS 101 through 200". Why is this? The document goes on to say they ask leave to specify who these persons are at a later date; I thought suits had to be targeted?

(For reference, this is regarding my auto accident in February. I was the only person in my vehicle, and no one else but myself and the plaintiffs were involved.)

Jacobin is the most accurate news source because it recognizes the immortal science of Marxism as the foundation of all truth.

Serious answer: these charts are bad. This chart does nothing to explain why news sources are reputable or not, it just lists them with only the vague indicators of ideology and complexity, neither of which is directly related to the truthfulness of a source.
What's more important is media literacy. For example, editorial standards determine whether information is true or not and whether it's newsworthy. Unfortunately the internet and social media sharing puts pressure on publishers to produce more content in a shorter amount of time to get more clicks. More clicks means more revenue from ads, but if a publisher puts out too much information too quickly, it can lead to mistakes. Meanwhile, some other people figured out that they could make money by getting clicks through shocking headlines, it didn't matter if they were true as long as they were interesting, and that's how we ended up with all this fake news.

Also Vox has a lot of problems but they wrote about Jacobin pretty favorably despite the differences of editorial direction.
http://www.vox.com/2016/3/21/11265092/jacobin-bhaskar-sunkara

Although Vox isn't as reliable as that chart implies.

My insurers (Geico) are providing me a lawyer, yeah. They're confident this suit will go nowhere, which (according to my agent) is why they let it get to this point rather than settle; the medical claims are (again, according to them) outlandish given the vehicle forensics they did. Ambulance chasers, basically.

Though thanks for the thread link, I'll pop in there with further questions another time.

Read a few stories at random. I would probably put Jacobin somewhere in the red ovals depending on the story. They seem to stretch a lot into different areas depending on what they're trying to fit into their narrative.

If you were to ask me to value an overall score, probably that gold ring would be the site's main focus, or just to the right of it depending on how hard you look. Either way, Jacobin is probably a good way to say "hello" if you're looking for meaty news.

Chart seems fine to me. Strikes me as fairly accurate. It doesn't cover all the important variables though. Always look up the owner of the media outlet. Also editorial direction is a lot more nuanced than simply skewing left or right.

Details like that are why the Economist, a conservative magazine, loves free trade so much that they advocate decriminalizing hard drugs. Or look at Al Jazeera, which is factually dependable and a great source on news from the middle east. Except as it turns out, they are owned by Qatar's ruling family and as a result, some of the stories they choose not to cover are significant.
