"I'll do my Rubesty!" is a dumb and awkward translation for "ganbaruby!" and I just use the latter untranslated in my translations, but if they were dead set on actually translating it, it gets the point across and sounds silly, which is as good as could be hoped for, I think. I certainly can't think of anything better.

I didn't realize the anime con I went to had an artist's alley. I guess they all do? This was only my second one. Apparently the people doing commissions only ask for the equivalent of $5-6 US here for fully inked and colored pieces. I could've given someone a tenner for some Jojo+LL art

Have yet to find any good LL stuff besides figures and random blind box stuff at cons though, been getting it pretty much from Kinokuniya Bryant Park in Manhattan instead. Keep wanting to find some nesoberis, but have had no real luck. Basically, you pick your difficulty and are matched with 3 others (might be bots sometimes). All of you play the same song on the same difficulty (and same chart, I think, in the case of random EX), and at the end, whoever has the highest score is the winner. I'd say it's worth it to try and go for at least the first copy of the Kanan SR to help fill out your team. On the way, you'll also earn some loveca and an N as well. Lock this N because at the end of the event, as long as you're in the top 77000, you'll get a second copy, which you can idolize and max level for the Goals milestones, and the idolization will also earn you a loveca through the story. At the very least, try to participate for some of the point milestone completion rewards; they'll help out for sure.

I guess I'll give it another shot. My one attempt so far I was 30k points under the second place person (4th place had 0 points) so it made me feel like I was really doing something very wrong. Although I guess it's more likely that I just had a weak team and got unluckily matched up with two people who knew what they were doing more than I.

Score match places you with similarly scoring opponents, but the first few are completely random as the matchmaking calibrates itself. Kind of like placement matches in other games.

There's an invisible ladder system, so eventually you'll be pushed down to people with weak teams. Every event is basically a way for you to get a SR to fill out your team with though, so they're worth doing for the loveca and that.

Oh that makes me feel a lot better, actually. Getting blown out over and over was what I was afraid of since that doesn't feel good. If I start getting matched with people around my level I think I'll be fine.

Yeah, don't worry about having a weak team, as others said you'll eventually get matches with people who have similar strength teams to you and you'll only get blown out if you tank the song pretty badly (or fail it) or you wind up picking the wrong team for the song (which everyone has probably done once or twice). You'll still get a decent amount of points even if you end up last, depending on the difficulty of the match you did. I think each place is another 5% of the base points you would get? But they do add up over time. Still, getting blown out time after time is not fun, but you'll get equivalent level teams soon.

Yeah I'm having a lot more fun with it now that I'm getting more balanced matches. I've actually come in 1st a few times. Worst run so far was when someone texted me in the middle of a song's fast part. The notification came up right where a note was going to be so I of course tapped it instead and then I was just hosed.

That's the intent, yeah. The indicated stat will be boosted a lot, but play around and see what gets you better results: your on attribute and in stat team, or the strongest on attribute team you can muster. Definitely always have a healer, btw. btw sanae is great

hmm who is a healer besides anya (still the lowest stat total of all my rare idols wth) also i went to the money shop to buy all the energy drinks and trainer tickets. what are the tiaras for? i don't think i've used any yet. idolizing SSRs maybe? they are very expensive but i have like 9 of each also what are the medal awards you get from quests sometimes, are those just like achievements e: ok i found a healer list
