I have no mouth and I must post
I present a nominee for the dumbest argument:

quote:

Me [27 M] with my GF [25 F] 2 years, got into an argument of Serif vs Sans Serif fontsRelationships

We're doing long distance and last night she called me after a few days of not talking at like 2 AM so we were both having to whisper (people were asleep at our respective places). It was all going well until she started she brought up fonts (she was giving feedback on my website).

She talked passionately about how Serif fonts are better for reading speed and Sans Serif are better for web. I told her I had learned Serif is worse for large blocks of text because it increases comprehension time. She kept pressing the issue. We were whisper-arguing. I told her I didn't want to talk about it and she went to bed.

We haven't texted since. I am annoyed she would harp on it so much. She's too competitive with me.

tl;dr: Whisper-argument over serif vs. sans serif fonts. Any advice?

Hello reddit people I am from B.C. Canada. This Christmas I uploaded a funny video of our kid's Hatchimal allegedly swearing to my Youtube channel. I thought it would be a good idea to submit it to America's Funniest Videos shortly after and so I uploaded it and filled out the necessary release documents. They then immediately claimed copyright and prevented me from monetizing it. So now I am realizing this was a huge mistake on my part and the video has gone viral, a news crew from CTV filmed my family at our house and I am not making anything from it after spending almost 10 years on YT trying to earn a living. Do I have any recourse? Can I cancel my submission to AFV or do they now own my video forever? Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot.

this is pretty hilarious

Me [M/25] and my GF [F/22], both Twitch streamers, she's gained a lot of weight (100+ lbs) and I'm losing attraction for her

quote:

A lot of details changed to protect privacy, as we both have an internet presence.

I started streaming after I got out of college a few years ago. I was lucky enough to know some other well-known streamers and it helped get my channel promoted. I ended up cultivating a pretty decent sized following on Twitch very early on, and I quit my day job to stream full time.

I met my GF at one of my meet-ups very early in my streaming days. We hit it off instantly. I'll be the first to say I'm not the most handsome motherfucker out there, so my experience with girls was pretty limited at the time. She wasn't too experienced either (we're both a couple of nerds) so we kind of discovered love/sex all that jazz together. I fell for her very fast.
Since then (3 years ago) we moved in together, adopted some kittens, and made a home in my city (she's originally from a city about 6 hours away). For the most part it's been great. We get along well. She even started streaming too, but she doesn't have nearly as many followers as me.

Fast forward to now - she's gained a loooot of weight. She was never really that thin. She was overweight when we started dating, but not by much. She was still relatively small, just with some extra poundage in places. Now she's blown up - she's closer to 300 lbs than 200. Like I said, I never really cared if she was skinny, but in the last year my attraction for her has dwindled. She doesn't take care of herself at all. She never works out with me. She's constantly eating. She won't let me start a show until she has a snack in hand and makes me pause it so she can get more chips/pizza/soda/etc. Sometimes I try to buy more fruits and veggies and cook for her, but she'll always end up ordering more food after she eats whatever I made for her.

As a result, she's become super self-conscious. She never wants to have sex or let me see her naked. The last time we slept together was on her birthday, two months ago. She never initiates anymore and I (as mean as it will sound) don't really mind. For months I tried. I told her she was still sexy to me, that I wanted her, that I loved her. But she'd push me away every time. I've focused a lot more time into streaming, and so has she. It's gotten to the point that we barely talk or stream together anymore.

Enter Clara. Clara is a female streamer (not big at all, you've probably never heard of her) that is relatively new to the community. She only has a small following but her followers LOVE her. She's super kind, sweet, and she's unlike so many other twitch girls. She's also reaaaally attractive. Like, the kind of attractive you don't often see on Twitch.

I guess Clara is a fan of mine, because I got a bunch of tweets from her fans telling me that she has a crush on my voice. I was super confused. I checked out her most recent stream and found a part where she was talking about how she had a crush on me when she first watched my stream because she thought I had the sexiest voice she'd ever heard.

(as bad as this sounds) It made me feel good about myself, for the first time in awhile. My GF practically ignores my existence at this point. But not now. Now, my GF leaps on me when I come home and tries to get me into bed. She'll come into my streams and try to show off her cleavage on screen. She's getting super aggressive. It's obvious why. She started badmouthing Clara on her stream, calling her a whore and a wannabe and all this other stuff. This caused Clara to reach out to me online and apologize - she said she didn't mean to cause an issue, she didn't realize her followers would take her seriously and bring it to my attention.
I really don't know what to do. I'm massively unhappy. I'm in this house with a GF that I
don't feel attracted to anymore, but we have this house and these pets and this life we've built over the last 3 years. I want to make this work because I do love her, but honestly, I've been finding myself watching Clara's streams every now and then. I picture what it would be like to date someone like that and find myself thinking about her a lot. I hate myself for it. I've never reached out to Clara or anything, aside from when she apologized a few weeks ago, and she lives kinda far so it's not like anything would happen anyway. But it's made me realize I might not be in the right relationship.

Is there something I can do to remedy this at all? I'd like to fix things with my GF but I also don't feel like I have the motivation to be with her anymore.

tl;dr: GF and I stream, she's gained a lot of weight and I'm no longer attracted to her, another female streamer has started to catch my eye but I feel horrible about it and want to fix things with my GF if I can

Lol I looked up that Hatchimals video, it has over 300K views right now, the rest of her videos are talking about the fad diets she's on, and also a handful of knockoffs of her original video, presumably to skirt the agreement she signed, nothing else has more than a couple hundred views. Making a living off youtube indeed

Edit: Never mind, I went back and looked again, the guy posting in legaladvice isn't even the one with the 300k video, he's got one that has 64K. And 9 years worth of barely viewed vlogs. God there's a lot of boring poo poo on youtube

Sex life with an alcoholic

quote:

I [26f] have been facing issues with my [31m] boyfriend of one year. My current relationship is almost perfect except for one major detail: my boyfriend is a complete alcoholic. Me, on the other hand, I'm much more of a smoker than a drinker. I love him so fiercely but I'm starting to hate who he becomes when he's wasted. Once he picks up a beer he won't stop until every drop of alcohol in sight has been consumed. When he's drinking there's always this certain point where he goes off the edge and loses touch with reality, and there's no going back until he passes out and sleeps it off. His drinking has always affected our sex life (I could happily go at it every day whereas he could go about twice a month and be totally fine with it). Sex is huge in a relationship to me and he knows that; I'm a very sexual being and am very open about speaking about my sexuality. I've tried to talk to him about my needs but it usually ends up being a one sided conversation while he mutters his 'sorrys'. Look, I know alcoholism greatly effects sex drives and I try to be kind with this issue. But it kills me when I get regularly rejected by him despite me putting in real effort. I always have to be the one to initiate any sexual encounters, and just hope that he will be into it. Then I'm left wondering if he's actually enjoying any of it when he has to be coerced into anything sexual we do. It's always on his time, when he's ready, my feelings are secondary. I'm not used to this dynamic; I'm used to boyfriends who have the same sex drive and can't keep their hands off of me. I have more sexual tension then ever. So this is a sure killer of self esteem. My big problem is that the only time he ever tries to initiate sex or anything is when he's completely crazy-eyes wasted at 3am. As I mentioned, I am starting to resent who he becomes in that state so the last thing I want is to have sex with him then. In fact, I usually just want to leave at that point or just disappear (because let's be honest, that's just no fun and kinda creepy). When I try to explain to him (in nicer words) that I want to have passionate sex with the man I love and not sloppy sex with the drunk version of him, he gets super sensitive and upset and will either drink more heavily or start a fight. Then the next day he will apologize and say he feels bad about the night before and wants to work on our intimacy and sex life. No actions, just empty words, and we're just stuck in this revolving door of a situation. It's really starting to weigh heavily on me. Everything else in our relationship is amazing and we're more in love than we ever thought possible but I'll be damned if this isn't starting to drive me absolutely crazy sometimes. I'm not positive as to why I'm posting this... I guess I'm just looking for advice or personal experience to draw from.

It depends what you consider "a living": there can't be that many people making mid-5 figures unless they have some very generous donators, but there might be a bigger population of people scraping out poverty-level wages under the radar, I guess?

You would be amazed. Sure, the big names make bank, but even smaller names can pull a couple thousand a month and that's location-agnostic so if they live in some small town it beats working.

It helps if you cram as many other "professional streamers" into your house as possible. Hell even the successful YouTube personalities often roommate together to cut costs (also because they often have dedicated recording spaces and it's easier to share).

Hahhaha holy stromboli.

I know a girl who does these half assed cosplays. They're okay but usually pretty rushed and the details are very meh. I'm pretty meticulous though so that could just be me being particular. Anyway she's gained a decent sized following on instagram of about 10k and some change, showing off her cleavage mostly. I feel like the whole thing is a relationships post waiting to happen because she has all these nasty guys creeping on her and asking if she has a boyfriend and her usual response is "regretfully I'm taken but I'll let you know if anything changes :)" and I can't imagine that feels good to her boyfriend
