I've been using the blocked backdrop gimmick against a couple of lower rankers and it doesn't seem all that impractical to use after all. Hardly anyone at higher ranks seem to know how to punish blocked slash properly either, even at close range. https://a.pomf.cat/bvvhfi.webm
