Last GenChat It's a new year, so it's time for a new GenChat. Talk about random garbage in here. Some rules: 1) If there is a thread about a movie you want to talk about, post in that thread, not here. 2) Don't use this as a place to shittalk other posters and other threads/forums. 3) Don't be a dickhead Here's a list of a bunch of people who don't post here any more and some who do on Twitter. Here's hoping 2017 doesn't suck as much as 2016 (it will).

Of course it's based on Kafka's Metamorphosis in which a successful middle aged man learns to be a better father after he is turned into a bug and hilarity ensues.

Sharing YouTube clips from Godzilla movies to keep my two-year-old nephew occupied and I'd forgotten A) how many of these fights are just monsters taking turns blasting each other with lasers and B) 80s era Godzilla probably isn't the best stuff for two-year-olds

Koichi Kawakita, the SFX director, didn't like the way the monsters in old movies fought like pro wrestlers, and the suits tended to be bulkier and less mobile than the ones in the older films, so it pretty much degenerated into "beam wars".

Show him Gigan slashing Godzilla's arm open then bashing his head in. So much blood. Actually my kiddos love this one dude's channel because he makes music videos to specific kaijus. Heres Rodan: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=O4kJqW6Y87E

I thought King Kong vs Godzilla would be relatively tame but there's a long segment where Kong keeps getting rocks dropped on his head. Also it became clear at some point that he thought KK was Curious George

I like when Orga tries to eat Godzilla and then Godzilla starts charging up a beam from inside of his weird mouth and Orga's face goes "I've made a horrible mistake" then he explodes.

ended 2016 with Alien, starting 2017 with Blade Runner. If this year is gonna get dystopic, I'm gonna get real dystopic. Also I've never seen Blade Runner before and I'd like to be informed when 2049 comes around.

Yojimbo is so good. My first movie was a terrible David Blaine special that someone at the party put on. He poked an icepick through his arm multiple times and it was extremely gross.
