I got the impression that all that Delve mining and ratting means that we can replace losses and torture them through more tidi-fests, whereas they are nomadic at the moment after already depleting a lot of their stores in the northern war. What could possibly be their strategic plan? Keep fighting until the wallets get dry, then proclaim "we had good ~content~, thanks, only thing we wanted in the first place" and gently caress off to the east? Beg PL to come down with their superfleet and help them? Hope more people from the rest of the galaxy come down to help despite the lack of casino money this time?

Also wondering how these battles will go once importing gets underway instead of relying on what people brought in their suitcases.

the main problem with TIDI is it allows all of eve to dogpile in. Fights that start with 1k dudes go into tidi which gives time for another 2k dudes to get to the fight. I like tidi but I wish it was capped at like, 25% instead of 10%. I think that in some cases if you prevented eve from slowing to a crawl at 10% tidi you would actually resolve some of the fight before it got dogpiled.

Problem is I think even at 25% people would still time out and get the black screen of death. I do agree that it would be nice if the dogpiling stuff could be addressed but not at the risk of making it so people have the same issues that TiDi was set up to resolve.

Well the extra time to dogpile is because the rest of the game universe can move faster than the area with the big fleets. Just lock the whole cluster to whatever the lowest tidi % node is at all times.

Did we really welp 5 supers and like 60 caps over some fortizars that are 2j away from another already online Test fortizar?

Yep. "Two jumps" is another region away, in this case. If the fortizars were allowed to stay up, they'd be able to put caps on them and project to a large part of Catch; now, they have to jump them through gates.

Compare and contrast with when we were settling Delve -- why do you think we rushed to get a Fortizar in 1-SMEB as fast as possible, and fought a rather large force to do so? Because having it meant we could project from 1-SMEB without having to jump in from Sakht first. (And, if you'll recall, we welped a super or two in that fight, too.)

So, yes, it was worth it on a tactical level. On a morale level, it was even more worth it; we demonstrated that we could headshot two stagers on the first day of the war, despite them bringing in the kitchen sink to defend them. Our months fattening in Delve has meant we can absorb tonight's losses without blinking, and show up tomorrow to do the same; TEST/CO2 are coming straight off the Tribute campaigns with weak wallets and tired pilots.

And when all's said and done, it was a loving awesome fight, despite the awful Tidi and the desyncs and the weird e-warp bugs. I'm glad CO2 and TEST came to it, and I'm glad we came to it. It's better than a dumb no-contest fight where PL trades a pair of Typhoons for a half-fitted undefended Keepstar.

Now that we've swung our supers around, I'll be interested to see if PL/NCdot commit to coming south in search of B-R 2.0 or if they'll just dreadbomb now and then.

It was really nice to actually hear mittens come into commas and say hi and thanks for the effort. I know he's busy irl and leading etc but it's better for morale. We also had a shitton of fcs step up, I flew with a pla fc for a few hours in a rag tag fleet picking off people.

The super loses are a boon to the enemy, but I think most of us are fine with what happened, and gladly pay the price. (Especially since it doesn't effect any of us individually)

A lot of newbies also took part, it felt like we ran out of frigate hulls people were reshipping and logging in so much.

Remind me since I'm mostly out of the loop with nullsec happenings. Catch is being defended by Stainwagon + CFC against TEST + CO2 + FCON + TRI?

Is the DRF involved or is only TRI from that crew doing things? Also what's Provi doing about their systems in Catch?

On that note, tidi, admittedly, is why I left null after a few weeks in a null alliance and noped off back to w-space. Then again I prefer the whole raider thing that w-space provides.

Oh yeah, I understand why we have it and such, it's just something that was such a pain in the rear end to me it sort of turned me off to those giant fleet/set-piece battles. If I did move back to k-space I'd likely join some small gang group or something.

Pretty close. Add MC on the TESCO side and VOLT on the Stainwagon side, and you've got it right.

To wit, non-VOLT members of Provi hasn't gotten directly involved, but it's reasonable to assume that they'll form up against anyone who attacks their Catch systems.

I have no idea what XIX or the other DRF entities plan to do, if anything.

They are not anymore. VOLT was a long-time member of Provibloc, yes, but they left the bloc and went NBSI earlier this year. They've lived in Catch and Querious ever since, most recently doing semi-friendly fights with LUMPY.

This is one of the things about Eve I love that other MMOs don't have: you get back in and immediately make a difference after a long break. No leveling to from 85 to 110 or some poo poo.

Also, if you were subbed but didn't have a queue, petition CCP to get your skillpoints back!

The short version is that they decided to go NBSI around September-ish, and CVA does not maintain blue standings to NBSI entities as a matter of principle. So, VOLT had a peaceful separation from Provibloc.

There's a whole lot of history and subtlety to the diplomacy that keeps Provi, Stainwagon, DRF, and the various associated entities like Tri/LUMPY/etc. from stepping on each other. I don't understand it, but I have some grudging respect for it.
