I'm in that unfortunate sweet spot where I'm significantly better at the game than any of my friends so they lose interest quick, but I'm not good enough to chop it up online so I'm forever waffling between bronze and super bronze. And yet I love this game.

Alwasy rematch. know when you're on tilt and stop playing if you are starting to care more about the points than getting better but always rematch. the more you see of the people that beat you the sooner you'll be able to beat them.

SF5 is probably the first fighting game where there's no appreciable difference in control method. I really can't think of any advantages pad/stick/hitbox has over any of the others in this game.

My SF V on PC is running like absolute trash now. I have a 1080 and I have no idea what's going on. It constantly stutters and goes into slow motion; sometimes it speeds way the gently caress up. I tried it with both my G-Sync monitor and 4K TV and it is the same on both. Anyone have suggestions?

Soul Calibur V was fundamentally fine, they just didn't get enough time to finish it. Well, and then they decided to replace all of the characters with younger and somehow even more annoying versions.

I know this exact feeling and it continues up to Ultra Silver at least. In other news, I randomly logged back on and noticed that my Laura was comboing Cr. LP into LP elbow. Then realised that there was a patch and it looks like she's a lot better, but all the stupid stuff I was using to win matches no longer works. (I'm looking at you backthrow loops) Ideally I just need to sit down now and retrain all the followups I memorised over the past year. I've also noticed people talking about a DP nerf but not playing a DP character I don't really understand what's changed about them and ideally would like to know before throwing myself back into competitive.

Normal DPs don't have invincible frames anymore so meaties beat them on wakeup. EX DPs still win. That's pretty much it.
