There is no reason to think that golden Frieza would be unable to kill Buu excepting absorbion on Buu's part.

Can Gohan gain back his power from the Buu saga again? Sure it was painfully boring, but standing in a circle for a couple of days beats training for ten years. I think he passed on his power to Pan right? Does that mean he's done or can he bounce back?

Future Trunks, Trunks and Gohan are pretty good examples of the pros and cons of half saiyan/earthling offspring. Huge potential for growth, especially in how fast they can pick stuff up, but it's much harder for them to stay motivated to improve. Future Trunks is what a half saiyan could be if they stayed dedicated, Gohan and kid Trunks are what happen when the challenges disappear.
