I'd consider waiting for the hdmi out mod to come back if you're not feeding this into an upscaler you already own.

If its for gameboy playin, then they probably are modding it already.

Yeah that what I basing the knowledge about this stuff on. And yeah I would use the hack since Yolo Wizard doesn't have the disc.

I don't have a upscaler, as I play them on the big CRT tv I got.

I picked up Marine Fishing a few months ago myself and it's definitely a blast. I think I like Bass fishing better, but they're kind of two halves of the same game.

So you remember how Mega Man was getting a bunch of mobile ports to Android/iOS? Well, they put out a trailer, and... uh, boy howdy, that sure is a framerate.

Apparently it's exactly like that in-game, too:

My Turbo Duo stopped reading CD-R's about 15 minutes after deciding to spend the day playing Dracula X. It just went black, but before that the music track would play once in a level but not loop. I also tested a few other games Id burned months ago - Lord of Thunder, Ys 4, now they all just go black when you load. Fortunately it still plays real discs. Curious if anyone else encountered this? They're all the same type of media and burner so it's hard to adjust that variable.

I realize this is borderline :filez: but does anyone sell 'repro' discs that are actually pressed? I really don't want to spend $160 for a game (although I guess I could always sell it after?)

These are what I used for renting/copying PS1 games and PC-Engine CDs back in the day. The blue azo discs are what was recommended for proper burns back in the day. Burn at the lowest speed possible and you should have 1:1 copies everytime. I still have a nice spool of PS1 games and a copy of Dracula X almost two decades ago that work perfectly to this day.

I actually tried to warn people about Doujindance mods on a local gaming group (when people were saying stuff like "Doujindance is a guarantee for quality!") , but people mostly didn't care because they felt that "there's no need to re-open the system" and "what does it matter if it works fine". I'm not the most tech savvy person so I just dropped it there. Got my Duo now and it was modded by a local modder & checked by my friend and it's in good shape inside, but if I ever get an inkling for a Duo-R, I'll contact Monitor Burn for sure.

I bought a Duo-R from Doujindance as well, based on recommendations from this thread. If that's what his work looks like, I am in no way saying it's acceptable- but for whatever reason, the image quality looks very good on mine. I did not notice any weird graphical issues or shimmering or anything like in that forum post, and I am pretty anal when it comes to noticing stuff like that.

I just hope the craptastic job that I am assuming is inside will not cause this thing to die quicker.

Hahaha, that's wonderful! I'm assuming whoever was messing with it wanted to put an LED in there, but couldn't pull it off for whatever reason. I'm assuming it was kid because it was also covered in blue ballpoint pen ink when I got it.

Went to my local thrift store this morning just to get out of the house for a few minutes and by local I mean the thrift store that helps deal with the extreme rural poverty in my town of 1500 residents. They had a whole stack of PS2, Xbox, and GameCube games for $1 each. Sadly, it was mainly sports games, but I did get a copy of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance for a whole dollar.

Can the Gamecube use the S-Video adapter from the N64? Because if I get the Gamecube + GB Player from Yolo Wizard, then I am all set. Already got a Everdrive GBA for my Micro, so I should be all ready to use it on that then.

I know one guy who does. I believe he has around 30 total, although the candy cabs generally get the most play. He's had more of them at various times, but only holds on to the ones he really likes.

It is really cool to walk through his basement, but you ultimately end up playing something on one of his 4 candy cabs.

Pretty insane, the standing models that are game specific aren't even very comfortable to play on (by design), it's expensive and takes up a ton of space. Go with a candy cab (or two if you don't like rotating the screen) and swap the boards imo. you get a larger and better screen, controls that actually work well, and they're comfortable to use

One more thing about collecting cabinets is that a lot of them aren't very nice. For every cabinet with a great style there's two which just some some decal on the side and for every one of those there's four cabinets that are just plain lovely. You might find it more enjoyable to just collect the art from the machines. It's cheaper, takes up less space, and can be displayed.

I think a major issue I've run into is that with flash carts and stuff, my consoles treat me to the paralysis of choice every time I want to use them.

If you collected a few cabs of games you truly liked, I could see that being less of a problem. I mean, space would be an issue and everything else would be nuts, but as long as you don't literally build an arcade in your basement, I don't think it's a sign of mental health issues. And if you did, it's a sign of being awesome (as well as probable mental health issues, but those are offset by the awesomeness, probably).
