I'm going to guess put a light oil in it and run it for a while, then drain and repeat.

You know, I know the consumer grade Fram filters have a bad reputation, but I now wonder what the innards of the racing grade ones look like. I would at least like to think the racing filters (HP6A and the like) are better made.

While panda shopping I found a really nice one locally, 60k but when I checked the 'full' service history it stopped at 10k. So I checked the dipstick and it resembled marmite. 50k without an oil change. It only takes like 3.8l ffs, seriously that's like £20 with a filter maximum.

Funny thing is they're bolted to the unibody so all they do is put a nice pattern in the bonnet when the unibody folds in a mild impact. They are HILARIOUSLY expensive too- Each of those bars is probably $5-6K

I acknowledge that it may not actually help much on the monocoque, but I'd really like to put something like that on front of my 280ZX purely for aesthetic reasons. Are they generic or do I need to find one designed for my car?

Are they generic or do I need to find one designed for my car? You can buy one that's the right width, bolt it up, an fill in the gaps to fit the contours of the car. I don't think anyone has one on the shelf for a 280ZX. You could probably build what you want out of cardboard, disassemble the pieces and get them waterjetted out of aluminum and welded together.

Darchangel posted:Wrong bull bar. Yeah, its essentially slammed the door on the 5 poster bullbar because they're pretty much the definition of crap now, theres no though in the design at all and its pretty much game over for anything it hits. Im not saying that the ARB bar on my 4wd is any better, because at the end of the day if you get hit by a 3.5T 4wd doing 60 kph, your going to get hosed up, but at least its designed to not maim anything that goes near it.

Have they cracked down on those fishing rod holders you see on the front of 4wds, the ones that would neatly take a core sample of any pedestrian it lightly bumped in to?
