This is a 2005 Pontiac Vibe that has been converted to a camping car. Register as normal car because this is add on camper shell just like truck camper. Awesome to drive, still low enough not to get blown around. This camper shell is solidly mounted to car, been through plenty of high winds and this top is going No where. Shell is bolted into roof of car and also attached into the hitch. Metal bracing in the back. , so it can be removed but I hope no one ever will.Car gets 24 mph on flat terrain and will climb mountains and still get 20mpg. Car has cruise control, power windows, doors, locks. Cold A/C and Heat work perfectly . Pioneer Stereo and 4 Pioneer speakers with Sub woofer under drivers seat. New Tires. B&M transmission supercooler KC daylighters, smoked LED marker lights, LED Cab and marker lights, and tail lights. This vehicle is superb for parking overnight at rest areas and truck stops. Two adults can sleep up top but it is rather tight. One person feels like a king inside the camper. The camper is a Bed that is mounted to roof 8 feet long. Front area is a awesome storage area for baggage and Water Jugs. Reading lights, Fantastic Fan with thermostat and reversable air and 3 speeds. 1300 watt Power Inverter is wired to both sides of camper shell. on the Galley Side, the other is under the 5.1 surround sound stereo with aux input. Movies are awesome in this car. Toaster Oven and Coffee Pot area, lots of cupboard space and shelf space as well. Rear seats are available but were removed parts to lighten up the car. Has 2 house batteries that keep this car on the road with no charging for about 5 days on average until need a recharge. 2 200 watt heaters. This car was built to travel and save $100 a night at hotels. So far This car has saved thousands. The car has extremely good pick up and stopping ability. Brand new Portapotty in box included. Having a toilet in back of car has some serious advantages. Gross Gas stations? use your own bathroom. Traveling with a toilet in back is a huge bonus. Transmission fluid is nice and clean, Engine Oil is Synthetic since 75,000miles. No odors or bad smells, no leaks.Fun to drive and opens up alot more adventure on roadtrips.A/C cord can plug directly into Camper wiring, unplug power inverter and plug ac in to power off of shore instead of using battery power. Solid State Battery Charger included to charge house batteries. I have all the removed parts if desired. This car is ready for where ever you want to go. So far it has seen Texas, Kansas, Nebraska,Maine,Long Island (small enough to take on Fairy).Fits in a compact car space. More pictures to come of inside car.

I'm using a gen 1 netbook with a whopping 512MB of ram and a an INTEL ATOM processor, after I got rid of my slightly newer gen desktop (and my celeron lenovo with INTEGRATED FLOPPY DISK) during my move to New Zealand. The internal clock battery is dead so every time I boot it's 2002. I'm going back to school this fall, so I'm holding off getting a newer PC until then. I'd be running linux but LOL forever at getting drivers for this thing. I actually had to download paint because it didn't come installed, and I could be running PAINT 98 if I really wanted. I had GIMP but it fails to load now. Every time I go to a browser tab it has to re-load, but I can run X-COM ENEMY UNKNOWN and MARATHON pretty Ok.

He had a really bad reaction to the food I was feeding him. I rotate between some mid-tier no corn brands for my husky who's never had a problem with friggin' anything likely because he was raised on literal garbage. So Tucker got hives all over and his fur went matte and started falling out. After a bit of research and advice from a vet it was pretty clear it wasn't a bacterial infection, and I don't know *what* exactly in this food he's allergic to, so I moved him to a home-made diet. It's been a process and I think mk I of the home made food was missing some nutrients as Tucker started to devour sweaty socks. Current mk II revision is in testing.

I had a Good Dog named Tucker also, who had similar problems for years - lots of hot spots on his skin that he'd nibble on endlessly. :( We tried one food after another, but could never pin it down until after we moved to a new house, and the cat food was for the first time totally inaccessible to him. The dog was allergic to the loving cat's food (which he was fond of stealing).

So if you have a cat look out for that.

If the DIY dog food doesn't work consider taking doggo to a doggo dermatologist (no poo poo). I had a similar issue with my old pup (RIP Poppy) for years until finally we took her to a specialist and it turned out she had doggy hypothyroidism. She lived another seven years after that with twice daily pills of the same stuff they give humans, but it kept her hair and skin problems under control pretty well.

I've got a female friend of mine about 75% sold purely on the cute factor... I don't really have space for it. If she does think about buying it I'd probably look into what can be swapped into there. the twin engine was basically a motorcycle engine with close to zero development since they were working on the wankel engine and by all accounts were noisy as hell. If you can get a ACVW engine and gearbox crammed in there that's probably the best bet over the long term.

edit:Well apparently there's no shortage of parts avaliable, actually way more than I expected and its probably feasible to keep the original engine http://www.nsu-autoteile.de/index.php

Stupid drivers always breaking car, Gronk fix car...

I had a Prinz, it was totally awesome and no slower than a similarly aged Beetle, despite being half the car in weight, cylinders, power, and probably more. Its an amazingly advanced design for a glorified motorcycle: Overhead cams, synchronized gearbox, Dynastart, double wishbone front suspension, swing axle rear suspension. I had it up to about 65, and what was without working brakes :gonk:

edit: I actually had 3 Prinzes, that made about 1.75 complete cars and 1.25 engines. I eBayed mine and the guy that bought it used to race them in South America and was looking for a local-ish one.

The cat is diabetic and she has a pretty rigorous feeding schedule. She gets fed upstairs, and we cordon off the stairs with a baby gate otherwise the dogs would go ape for the wet cat food. After she's been up there a half hour we put the food away.

The food has been working a treat as far his skin and fur problems go. He's stopped shedding and the shine's come back into his coat, but he's obviously not getting some micronutrients so I had to up the amount of meat and veggies for this batch. He's due for a vet appointment relatively soon so I'll ask them about the hypothyroidism when I'm there.

I think that's a fox body based car, so it's like a normal LTD with a mustang power train. The swap isn't difficult, the 302 and the T5 aren't particularly valuable, and the AC probably connected easily. It's clean, if you like it buy it, but I don't think it's going to be fast with that engine and transmission. I think the world class T5 had a reputation for not holding a lot of power and the 302 blocks split in half without major work above 350?ish.

That's a lot of work, and very well done but none of it is particularly difficult.
Depending on what was in there before I think you can even use the stock engine mounts.
That looks like it was a fun project though.

The 5.0 and t5 are a great combination, but not particularly hard to come by, or expensive.
Depending on the rear gear it'll probably burn tires all day though.

I don't know mopars well, maybe this isn't anything to worry about. Hell, maybe they came this way. It just looks to me like either someone whacked it with a sledgehammer or the intake manifold exploded somehow.

edit: I was referring to the front of the intake manifold looking kind of jagged, but actually I think what I'm seeing is just a weird casting edge. So maybe this isn't as bad as I thought.

It's air cooled and water cooled. Are they both manuals? Both autos? One of each? Where are the fuel tank(s)? How do you shift and clutch it, if manual(s)?

The bodywork does look rather good for a contraption like this, so someone clearly put some love into it, and they did a decent job lining things up, but... why?!

Well if the front has the shifter on the column and the bug on the floor, the front could be auto and the clutch would work the bug. There is no answer to the why other then why not.

Florida doesn't have emissions testing so you'd have to bring it somewhere that does. Maybe Orlando has a county thing but I doubt it.

I read something about this some time ago. Of course I can't find it now, but the gist of it was that it's not as funky as it seems, because their only physical connection is the road surface.

So the drivetrains can behave independently, and the effect of the "other" engine/trans on either, is basically the same as said car being pushed from behind by another car.

Of course I know you're an engineer and I could be completely wrong!
