The characters and character interactions in Demi-chan are all good and cute, and whatever story they try to tell with those characters will also be good and cute.

I'm not super familiar with the Hasegawa Heizo canon, but Onihei was a nice bit of old timey crimey with some flashy sword battles to spice it up a bit. Not really riveting, but suitable for a dry snack

I can totally see why they would want to cash in on that, butt I believe trying to do that ties together two very different things that are completely different in tone and execution, and may even have different audiences.
(I'm not taking a few members of this corner of this dead gay internet form as the whole sample)

Yes. Also Dragon Maid.

Not sure what to think about Idol Incidents. I'll probably watch another episode just to see what an idol politician actually does but the first episode wasn't terribly interesting.

i liked it. the cgi for crowds was a bit odd though, and i feel like its doomed to nobody watching it, what with it streaming on amazon, starting with graphic torture and not really having any hot guys. personally i hope the cases get a bit more interesting, which should be doable after the introduction one

Was it an official change? Like in the anime they don't say MaiDragon?

Oh I haven't seen the episode, I was just thinking about the title. Unlike the demi-chan title change I don't think it really matters, but it seems like a waste of a perfectly bad portmanteau.

To be fair they do a pretty good job of showing that that was just the trigger and that they actually have chemistry outside that, at least for how much page space she gets.

So far of the new season, I have watched the first episodes of:

Youjo Senki - Though I'm wary of its isekai roots, the first ep was cool enough to earn it a solid chance. It's makes war seem profoundly unpleasant, and Tanya is OP but paired with her attitude it's in a way that's fun to watch.

Demi-chan - This is great. It manages to draw out everything I like about the manga, possibly stronger than the manga itself. Cute!

Little Witch Academia - I've previously only seen the first OVA, which was cute and fun, and this is too! I love the playful animation. Akko's total inability to read social cues is hard to watch, but I'll persevere, because this evokes a sense of wonder in a way that few animes manage.
