Yeah, basically. Each day one song attribute will have a bonus to drop caravan prizes. There's an R and two SR that are caravan drops. Good time to grind SR for skilling up cards, or for a 15*.

You'd want your highest star rank idol as center when you'd play a song, yes.

It's more forgiving with the perfect timings (especially for holds), but the slides are fairly strict. Sometimes it helps to remember that a series of slides (connected by those horizontal lines) don't have to be a single gesture. You'll want to do so for the quicker ones, but some songs have pretty drawn out slides that are a little easier to handle by separate slides. While it's kinda difficult to explain, you just have to slide off each individual slide arrow when it's in the zone, the game doesn't care where your finger was previously. Like in that video of some guy one-handing romantic now by making circles for those series of three slides. Or like those zigzags near the end of Koume's song(here (JP wiki), scroll down to the "MASTER" section, I'm talking about the bottom of the rightmost column of the image): I do the right-facing swipes with my left and the left-facing swipes with my right. That's way easier than zipping all the way across the screen with one hand.

The Ankira, as awful as it was to play, was a pretty cute callback to all the slides in Anzu's song. Still awful, but a nice touch~

There's a medal exchange button on the event page, you can buy idols and other stuff. Generally don't bother until after the event's over so you can tell if you need any more idols.

Yeah, Hotel Moonside is a legit good song. The token drops are for buying things like energy drinks or whatnot. On the event page, click the button under the amount of medals you have to get to the store. You can even straight up buy the event cards if you want, which is what I'm going to do to get Hikaru if I get to 1000 (or 2000?) tokens before I get her card. :v:

I guess if you aren't maxed on stamina drinks or got hella lucky early on and needed tiaras they're useful, but there's no real reason to buy other crap until after the event, when you can spend it on idols and gems. Maybe keys, if you don't have like 80.
and then money when you have nothing else to get and like 20 tokens left.

I'm pretty sure they give you a day or two. In any event, it's better than having event gachas with the coins. (Polsy: Do those colored tokens even carry across events? Do the weird event-specific stamina items?)

Hotel moonside kinda makes me think of a good dance song from like, five years ago. Not that I have any idea what a good dance song from today is, but it kinda has that feel to it.

when does this game do its daily reset? I swear it seems to happen both at midnight and noon central. like the event started at midnight and it was blue songs, and now it's switched over to orange songs already. very confusing

CG resets at noon eastern EDT, I believe. LLSIF(en) is 8pm EDT.

The login bonus stuff should happen at midnight Japan time, which would be 9am Central. However...a number of things are left up to whenever midnight happens on your phone clock, and I believe that includes the apparent boosted song type.

This is difficult to prove, but: the rewards are almost certainly entirely controlled by the server, which means the songs your phone is telling you are good are actually not unless your phone date is the same as the date in Japan.

You'll get drops regardless, it's just songs of a certain type get boosted rates for the day.

Actually Allarion is probably right and they already fixed this; according to the schedule Passion day is the 13th (which it is in Japan right now). In which case you shouldn't see anything change at local midnight - the game will pop up the 'day has changed' box and force you to go back to the main screen, but nothing actually happens in practice.

I feel like that never noticeably affected the caravans, although I know it was a thing with the tours (which I think they fixed?)

Super glad you can go back and rewatch them, in case you skipped over them or whatever.
They even have entries under the "event" header there for all SRs, even if they're from the gacha (although they are the old-style, no animation ones. The only difference between the event an gacha tabs there is that the gacha one shows the envelope. So you can relive the moment lol)
