That sounds like a good idea except I can't wrap my head around how I would do that without loving my back up.

Well, fine, if you're going to be that combative. i'll just tell you what you want to hear then.

sit on your rear end watching anime eating cheetos, you'll totally get buff.

A set of free weights packs down into a briefcase size and opens up all sorts of bulking exercises you can do in a closet let alone any normal living space. You won't be a swole lord with one set of free weights but you can tone enough to not be a noodle man.

Bonus OSHA I just leave mine sitting around willy nilly and a friend broke his toe when he stubbed it on one once.

If I was 170 lbs, I would have possibly died. My brother has been hospitalized several times for minor stomach bugs. But I'm fine. I can not eat for a week and stay alive. My brother has to have IV fluids if he gets very sick. I just have to lay down and rest.

I got a terrible case of mono in high school and couldn't eat for weeks, I dropped probably 12-15 pounds, but was only 6'1" and maybe 135 pounds at the time. If you have less to lose, you just lose less. Although to be fair they did worry that I was going to die.

Christ you're touchy. I wasn't being combative at all, I genuinely do not know how I would lift a couch (being a long, heavy, rather unwieldy object) by myself without loving my back up. I was expecting you to say "here is a diagram" or maybe "you do this, step 1: X; step 2, Y; step 3: etc" but since something apparently crawled up your rear end and started biting I guess that's too much to expect.

This is helpful, thanks! I'll wrap a high-vis vest around it for extra OSHA.

gently caress, Iw as going to post this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Liston

quote:

Liston's most famous case
Amputated the leg in under 2 1⁄2 minutes (the patient died afterwards in the ward from hospital gangrene; they usually did in those pre-Listerian days). He amputated in addition the fingers of his young assistant (who died afterwards in the ward from hospital gangrene). He also slashed through the coat tails of a distinguished surgical spectator, who was so terrified that the knife had pierced his vitals he dropped dead from fright.

That was the only operation in history with a 300 percent mortality.

Well, it's true for most people. There are some freak ectomorphs who just remain lanky motherfuckers until they die. You might be in trouble if you were part of a society with periodic famines, but as it is you are the big winner and should go make lots of babies.

Same here, 32 and if I work out even mildly and eat vegetables occasionally I'm 5'10 155 since I was 19. I reckon the shoe will drop eventually, but just take even the slightest care of yourself maybe? Heck I love beer.

Okay fine Captain Pedantry, all of my everything is fine. Of everything that a doctor checks in a set of routine labs, 100% of it came back within acceptable parameters for a 32 year old white male. I am, and I should but I have no room in my apartment and there's no decent gym nearby.

If you have a rugsack or some kind of bag you can put stuff in, you can lift a weight without getting actual weights. There's a pretty good book about exercising at home without exercise equipment floating around on the internet but I'm sure there's also bad ones so  (It was maybe a goon who wrote it?)

e: I mean your muscles don't know or care what you're lifting.

The etymology of rucksack is from the German alpine dialect rücken (the back) + sack. I guess a rugsack would be rügen ( to reprimand or reprehend) + sack which would be this:

Or a bag you keep your rugs in idk

Only after the second consonant shift, some of us germanics noped the gently caress out of that and call it "rug".
