I made the mistake of playing the Berseria demo yesterday and now I'm annoyed Berseria isn't out for two loving weeks.

Nagi no Asukara was kind of a surprise, after the first few episodes I was pretty much ready to write it off as a stupidly pretty but otherwise unremarkable romantic drama love triangle thing. The setting was different but it was still just the over-protective older brother figure who doesn't know why he gets so mad when his childhood friend talks to other guy deal. I uh, did not expect them to actually go through with the sea god stuff and that was super neat. It's still definitely not the best thing I've ever seen but after those first couple episodes I thought it was really compelling, even if the last episode was silly and I would prefer a different outcome for the 'main' romance. Yeah, it's got some issues, and I had my opinions on how it should have ended too, but it's still real neat. Normally, in this kind of show, I find any supernatural stuff to kind of get in the way of what I actually care about, or at best be an impetus for melodrama, but Nagi no Asukara manages to make it central to the plot in a way that really works. I adore how they handle the time skip. And yes, it's so pretty!

the show drove me nuts, but in a good way. i love to be messed with by okada stories. and miuna's focal role in the second half is super good, and serves as a strong pillar within the relationship melodrama imo
