Yeah, no doubt. Also from that list, if I'm gonna pick one: Don't Deliver Us From Evil. Saw it the first time a month or two back and it blew me away.

CP, literally on page 1 of your script you have camera directions. Don't do that. (Also, the opening is straight out of MIB2.)

Camera movements on a TV show. And no ones making this thing but me, if there's camera direction, it serves a purpose.

And uh....MIB2 isn't the first piece of media to ever begin with a Paranormal TV show.

The legal drama parts feel a little underdone but Jeremy Irons is so awesome that it keeps the movie consistently entertaining, plus Glenn Close and Ron Silver are good too, and the whole Von Bulow case has always interested me. I've never cared for Scent of a Woman at all. Lil Mama Im Sorry posted:What was it about the rewatch that stood out to you? Honestly? Everything. It's just a stunning movie in every respect. And hey, if it does suck, that's fine. But finish it first is really my thing, you know? I want to know what to remove to make the script shorter, and a little leaner.

Samuel Clemens posted:I have to get on that. How does it compare to Heavenly Creatures? Heavenly Creatures is more like a Guillermo Del Toro joint, with more emphasis on seductive, immersive fantasia. Don't Deliver Us From Evil is a nasty twist on the sexual bildungsroman that is much more recognizable in France, it's got way more in common with Briellat and Jean Rollin than Peter Jackson. I happen to think it's way better.

That's fair. PM with more thoughts though! That's been my biggest issue. I know you're absolutely right, but it's more of, I need to know like dead on specifics. There is a shorter version I did a while back, which I've debated about dropping back in. The whole thing is 20 pages long, and it ends at about page 60 in the long version. That's probably the way to do it, but I'd just like to know your thoughts. I can't kill my darlings by myself. Someone's gotta tell me which ones to kill.

Also, I tried watching The Secret and had to turn it off like 25 min into it cause it was just disgusting, but my roommate is making me watch it with him tonight. As a tradeoff, he's going to watch one of my picks with me and I'm not sure which direction to go in. Since The Secret promotes solipsism and is aggressively anti-political-awareness, I was thinking Harlan County, USA or HyperNormalization... any other suggestions?

You have to be brutal. Think of it as the end of The Good Son. Macaulay Culkin is all the bad stuff in your script that's weighing down everything, but Elijah Wood is the good stuff. It's not an easy decision, but the alternative is that both plummet to their deaths. You can live with yourself a lot easier if just the evil murder child falls onto the rocks.

There are more BLAIR WITCH parodies than you'd expect. EROTIC WITCH PROJECT (2 of them), THE BARE WENCH PROJECT (3 of them), THE BARE TITS PROJECT, DA HIP HOP WITCH, that episode of WWE Raw that had a segment that was called 'The Blonde Bytch Project' and was pulled immediately once Vince McMahon actually saw it. The video shop I worked at were inundated with them.
