I hope they remove map rotations and let us save loadouts that could be switched between matches.

I like map rotations because if there's poo poo maps, I can not play and if there's good maps, I'm guaranteed to get to play them, instead of what happens in other games, where I play Mall fifty times in row, hoping that next one will be something fun.

I don't mind it too much for Turf Wars, but for Ranked and Squad Battles that need to accommodate three different game modes, I think they should switch (ugh) it up more often so each stage/mode combination is more frequent. Maybe 2 hour rotations vs. the 4 hours rotations we have now? Yesssss. (Edit: even if I'm slightly disappointed my ability to pick out Stealth Jump shoes is now pointless)

Also, if I'm reading that right, it seems like you may be able to straight up pick your abilities instead of having to roll the dice for them.

It just sucks that I'm stuck playing the same two maps even if I'm playing for a few hours. I hope at the very least they could make it 4 maps instead of 2. I don't think any of the maps in Splatoon are bad so I'd like more variety.

There's one called "splashdown" IIRC that basically lets you do a superhero landing on super jumps and I'm excited to apply that during tower control.

Well, we don't know all of the weapon load outs as of yet, but besides the basic game mechanic of inking, this is a drastically different game from the first one. Nintendo apparently took a long hard look and rebalanced the game completely.

There appears to be one new type of move/input which jumping and attacking seems to activate. There are probably new gear abilities. Judd Jr. It really looks like a number of smallish changes, no huge ones to core gameplay beyond hardware limitations like the map. I'm excited

The basic gameplay is there - well, at least for turf war - but they shook up the weapon load outs and maybe more to make it a different game to the first. It's Splatoon alright, but it's different enough that justifies it being a sequel than just a port.
