But I mean like that Halloween shot, the palm tree isn't right there in your face. Like....there ain't no palm trees here. That shouldn't even be news to people. EDIT: Okay, I guess it isn't a film version of the shooting, but like, an Elephant kinda thing. Except it looks super lame. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BzFzF74asQ CelticPredator fucked around with this message at 09:20 on Jan 14, 2017 |

That title is so gross. They shoulda called it Dark Night Rising. Ooh, or Dark Night Setting. I wonder if they did research to cherry pick the kids who's lives they could depict all languid and tragic and ignored the ones who were just playing XBox before the movie. edit: I like the Van Sant/Larry Clark style disaffected youth movies (or used to. They're both shadows of themselves now) I guess it's just the title that doesn't let me begin to trust it. Ehchh. Teenage Fansub fucked around with this message at 10:54 on Jan 14, 2017 |

There are multiple scenes where these tortured souls are just shouting at the camera for extended periods of time. This film is everything I hate about arthouse

kiimo posted:I did locations for United States of Tara. It takes place in my home town of Overland Park, KS. I think the funny thing about filming in LA, is that LA looks like nowhere else in the country. It's especially obvious whenever they film in whatever that park is that they use whenever they want to show people out in nature. Dead brown grass everywhere, nothing but those huge trees far apart from each other with the large trunks and the big branches winding around pretty close to the ground, and no other plants anywhere else nearby. That does not look like upstate New York, or rural Georgia, or Minnesota, or anywhere else.

Not a movie poster, but a while back a bunch of Nolan posters referencing Wanderer Above The Sea of Fog got posted. Here's the cover for the new Zelda game. For reference:

Why is this man so anxious for his visit to the barber? quote:A middle-aged Irish farmer, who still lives at home with his mother, sets off on a mission of revenge when the old lady is murdered. Ah. Edit: it took me a second glance to realize that one of those posters was for John Wick 2 instead of something involving marihuana. Do people hang up crappy posters of movies they like? What's the right thing to do here? On one hand I love the movie and want to be reminded of it, on the other a bad poster gives me bad vibes.

Some posters are so spectacularly bad, that they just brighten up your day every time you look at them. The vibes are very important, though. Personally, I'd prefer a good poster of a crappy film over a crappy poster of a good film.
