Spacebump posted:'You couldn’t name three people on the Sacramento Kings, and I led the league in assists' Rajon Rondo I completely agree with this and think Rondo has a long way to go but attackmole posted:coaching requires self awareness rondo doesn't have this is demonstrably false. Of course some of the greats are self-aware, but plenty of successful coaches live in freakin fantasy-land of self-importance and misplaced priorities.

What would Denver want for Nurkic? It would be nice to have a defense oriented center on Portland again.

I don't really think the Nuggets can get bad enough to get a shot at a good pick if Gallo, Faried and Chandler are healthy.

Most good coaches seem reasonably self aware though. And also have some kind of empathy for players? Basically Rondo has the trademark personality of a coach that inspires a team mutiny.

Would he stop game planning and quit coaching a team if he got in a feud with the front office? So Scott Skiles? Also likely no. He might publically throw the front office under the bus and get fired. But the Rick Carlisle thing is just a clash of two personalities that don't work. It happens occasionally. Not gonna defend bailing on the team but unless you think Carlisle is just being an rear end in a top hat to someone he knows in Hoiberg(Fred was in Minn's FO while he was there), it's not likely he would have co-signed Rondo to Fred. Also attackmole posted:I guess that's true. Most good coaches seem reasonably self aware though. And also have some kind of empathy for players? Maybe not. Rondo by all reports really good with the Bulls young players, and as a coach he wouldn't have to worry about his own stats and playstyle/limitations as a coach. Some people flourish when forced to have more responsibility than they currently have.

I could definitely see them losing. Also try new Body Armor Harden Beard Sweat Flavor

That strip and fast break is such a carry. Kawhi, like a lot of superstars, carries way too much. That's going to get called in a playoff game and I'm going to lose my poo poo.

I wrote a big effort post on reddit about how 90s and early 2000s basketball, basically how guys like Kobe and Iverson are still all-timers despite how ineffecient they were compared to the current NBA, but mainly it just shows off how much better then NBA is to watch these daysquote:I feel like this is a lot like the recent question about Iverson vs Isaih Thomas. The 90s and early 2000s was a very different type of basketball from what is played nowadays. Court spacing PFs were rare, let alone spacing Centers. Games were played at a much lower pace, so players had less opportunities for transition baskets. Isolation was the main brand of basketball, so stars back then were expected to create shots by themselves and rarely through the motion of the offense. Pick and Rolls were rarer, and even then tended to be different from the where they get run nowadays. Shooters were worse in general (excluding the short 3pointer years). 15 years ago, 35% from deep was enough to be considered a 3pt specialist. Not in there, but also FTA/G are near an alltime low, the last 6 seasons are the bottom 6 seasons in FTA/G Also, Pace is no where near all-time highs, so don't worry about inflated stats, we are still 5 possession per game below the majority of the 80s, and 11 below the alltime high of the 73-74 season The Glumslinger fucked around with this message at 01:58 on Jan 19, 2017 |
