Yeah I think I only played germany once in any Hoi game, and that was to see how quickly I could get rid of hitler and become democratic/left and avoid the war.

It's a very fun nation to play from a gameplay perspective, being a plucky little militaristic upstart and seeing how much of the world you can conquer. You just have to uh, not think too hard about what your actions represent

The only time I've played Germany I couped them to Democratic first. With all the national focuses giving you war goals and the fact that this was the release version where other countries wouldn't sanity check their focuses, it worked out mostly the same except I wasn't Hitler spreading fascism.

Last I played HPM I got annoyed at how much stuff it adds to the game, which also seemed to make it run slower. I would recommend NNM instead if you only want some more countries and stuff

Whenever I play Eu4 as a colonial nation I always select "let's be friends" for my colonial policy. Also great work whoever did the Eu4 -> Vicky 2 mod it works exceptionally well except I loaded up my save and remembered I couldn't remember how to play Vicky 2.
