If that's the thing that'll get you to stay sober, then hooray! *Back in the 1990s I had a buddy named Mark. You remind me a lot of him. Mark had a rough upbringing, he was on his own at an early age. Spent a lot of time on various people's couches, drank hard when he drank, smoked various owl pellets and so on. Was an absolutely amazing person, utterly loyal, incredibly generous, never violent, literally would give a man his shoes off his feet and then go barefoot if the whim took him. He was a survivor, the kind of dude you'd be sure would survive the apocalypse. Also smoked like a chimney. One day he got a real bad cold, his girlfriend insisted finally that he go to the hospital, it turned into pneumonia, and a couple days later he died. He was 25. I went to his memorial service and it was packed, there were like 200+ people stuffed into this little community hall. I still miss Mark. The cigarettes didn't directly kill him, he didn't get cancer or emphysema or heart disease. I doubt it was the ecstasy or the booze or the... well, whatever else he dabbled in, I wouldn't have known but I don't think those things give you pneumonia. But they probably did indirectly kill him, because a smoker's odds against pneumonia are way lower than a non-smoker's, and the various other substances tend to also reduce the immune system. We'll never know for sure. Nobody talks about that. Mark wouldn't have quit even if everyone told him to (especially if everyone told him to) for reasons that'd be very familiar to you. Mark gave up maybe 60+ years of life in exchange for whatever pleasures are to be had from smoking for ten years. It happens.

This is just sort of looking at the black humor side of thinge for a second but I can absolutely believe the story about the Hells Angels cook just based purely off the sheer level of utter insanity that happened and also because the idea of artisanal small batch boutique amphetamine purveyors would be loving hilarious at some tasting and pairing event in Napa or Tahoe. Black tie and everything, starting off totally formal and professional and like three hours later they're still tallying the body count

It's for people who are bitter because they got kicked out for being too racist/sexist/transphobic mostly, so yeah... The worst people. Only downside is that it makes it hard to critique parts of this site that are Scary and Bad (the tension with D&D has come to a head recently, at least) without being seen as one of them.

I am really getting sick and tired of a P0300 random multiple miss code on a vehicle now with good compression across all 4 cylinders, manually confirmed even firing good spray pattern on all four inectors confirmed by having the fuel rail assembled but uninstalled and held over cardboard, and a "single" coil on plug loving assembly that must be bolted down over all four spark plugs with a single connector.

Narrowed it down using the spark plugs themselves as my indicators. Plugs 1 and 4 were perfectly clean and fuel soaked, and pistons cleaned off. Swapped the soothed plugs into 1 and 4 and the clean plugs into 2 and 3, and started showing evidence of combustion on the centers. Since compression is known good, and fuel injectors confirmed operating normally via visual testing, that leaves ignition. We've tried 2 coil pack assemblies with zero change, so either we have 2 that happen to have failed identically (possible, given the high praises I've seen for the units online), or one coil driver circuit is not operating somehow. That means testing the circuit one step at a time from ECM through the harness to the individual pins for each circuit inconnector at the coil.

I solved that misfire with the stupid GM ignition cassette thing by grafting on a neon ignition coil and some plug wires from a 90's cavalier, worked awesome after uningeneering it
