Then take a look at how this loving retards new toy has cargo loaded and you can see what I mean. But the best part is watching these idiots try and park other ships inside this thing. loving !

My friend used that story as to why goons are bad. He claims the guy was encouraged by goons and when i corrected his narrative he was all like " so what? Someone asked if Gillian and/or Gary where still involved with the project, to which I stated that Gillian has a Twitter account that she uses that, if someone wanted to know, they could politely ask her. Which to me is what Twitter is for (to some celebrities, it may just be to get paid to indorse thing). You where like frothing at the mouth with the post you where going on about Ben ripping people off over the WC:A stuff and saying how you where going to contact Alex. You where wrong to, and lied. When you Tweeted him, you said you where a backer and wanted to know what was up with the project (Did you donate to it?), to which he replied that he had e-mail the backers earlier letting them know what was happening. Which stopped you in no way making further demands that he provide you with info and you telling us all how you where giving him a day then going to contact Alex. (am I remembering that correctly?). There is a difference between asking someone a question and harassing them, you where driving full speed down crazy lane my friend. Sillybones posted:That appears a really high quality scan. Why does the rendered result look like complete poo poo? I'm pretty sure they have a CGI department that makes all the pre-rendered shizzles. I'm thinking a majority of this stuff was all put on super high detail models, and they bent properly. Chris was probably all "Use that model in CryEngine! People will just upgrade their computers for it!" And that idea ended very poorly. Stuff like the Mark Hamill renders and footage will never make it into a video game; short of being a pre rendered video. The low polygon game models are still super high detail. Once you get so high you start to see weird things like z fighting on surfaces so small they don't know which face is supposed to color a particular pixel. The shadow stenciling is going to go nuts too because it needs to handle the model data and ray cast off of it too. I'm not into games, but there is a mathematical formula for determining how detailed a model needs to be vs how much is on screen and "close" to the rendering camera. There's a reason why games don't just go "ah to hell with lod, just import the 2,000,000 polygon model and call it a day!" There's engine limitations and problems that can't easily be solved by the method cig is employing. I think before they start to make serious progress they're going to have to cut back on the level of detail going on. Not to mention the fact that beyond just rendering they want some pretty serious computations to be going on in a very huge world. Which is a long way of saying that Chris isn't the first developer to say "lets go all high detail!!!" and be a revolutionary, he's just too narrow minded to continually fail to see it not work. This may be because he doesn't actually play the game though. Last time he may have played it (I think he watches videos people submit though), may have been during his infamous live stream where he showed the world he's never played it before.

Sillybones posted:That appears a really high quality scan. Why does the rendered result look like complete poo poo? it's entirely possible that their base engine is so old they can't use newer mapping methods to make a low poly look really nice. more likely they don't have anyone there that understands the engine well enough to pull it off and yes I am saying the CryEngine devs might not understand their own engine, it's not exactly dev friendly

I've work in broadcasting for over 20 years, I love it, it's great fun. I get to film some amazing things and go to great places. Even a bad day is better than packing shelves and I'm paid well. I am freelance so their is no guaranty of work but after doing it this long and being at lest reasonable at it I get plenty of work. I can tell you that while it is cool and fun, it can be ruined by working on jobs that are crap and wasteful, when your producer or director are doing a poo poo job and you know it could be done so much better but at the end of the day your job is just to supply the role in which you are (Camera, Sound, Editing, Effects ect.) that is frustrating. When you end up having to work below your level of expertise due to the leadership mismanaging the project it is very frustrating and takes a lot of the enjoyment out of it. Also working on content that is dumb (or your find dumb or exploitive) can really suck the life out of you. For me, I have found I just can't be involved with reality type television any more, their is nothing reality about it. I also struggle with News work due to it being less about the craft and more about the logistics. From what I have seen of Chris, I would say that HE would have lots of fun on his shoots because he just tells others what to do and runs to his own play time. As for those working under him, I would feel sorry for, to me he seems to struggle to clearly explain what he wants, is prone to changing things on a whim, does not take advice or guidance and has a unhealthy ego. Also does not seem to achieve what he wants. I would also imagine being on any crew when Sandi was around would not be fun, I could see her as a totally primadonna. (that could just be my Goon tainted view though, but that fade to greenscreen resting bitch face tells you a lot I think) It is never fun to work with people whom you don't feel are worth of their position and other than Mark Hammil, I think most of the others would have end up despising being on that shoot. You don't have reshoots after reshoots if you are a compedent Director. It's like shooting a drama in a studio, you may think that is fun and it is, but its not as much fun as being out on site shooting a high end commercial for example. So once you have shot enough high end commercials, the studio shift is comparatively poo poo. For the staff at The Imaginarium Studios after being involved with Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Age of Ultron and working on the very well received Battlefield 1 game, I would think that Star Citizen and it's reshoots with Chris Roberts is starting to become a chore. I have friends that have worked at Weta Workshops and I have been there a few times (not while working thought) and I done a little bit of work for the last Hobbit movie. /I must try hard to get back (if I ever was) to more funny posting!
