I'm not sure when "tiger" became the most widely used version.
I think when saying the one that Rudyard Kipling popularised became socially unacceptable - so at different times in different places.

I grew up with "tiger" in the 80s and it wasn't until I dated an American in the early 2000s that I even learned there was an alternative.

Jesus Christ, I know there are more important things to be mad about in the world right now, but this is such narcissistic "it's the children who are wrong" bullshit that I am actually considering sending an actual old-person letter to the syndicate or to some newspapers, just to prove to JamesAllen that it's not just the internet, I hate you when I log off, too.

It's going to be this, but out of hatred:

It's legitimately great for James Allen that he gets to do what he loves and doesn't let the naysayers get him down, but that doesn't make his comics not awful.

If the naysayers weren't getting to him, he wouldn't have written that comic. If you genuinely don't care about something, you don't take the time to address it, you just ignore it.

In my experience, overuse of exclamation marks is the sign of a comic or textbook. I don't know why textbooks contain so many exclamation marks, but it's been pretty consistent in my experience from primary school right through to university.

I said this a bunch of threads ago (and I'm embarrassed that I even remember it) - but a whole bunch of years ago, Tiffany was actually written as a high school mean girl. She was shown as doing things like taking pictures of Luann in the locker room and posting them online; cheating and lying about her own accomplishments and those of others; bullying and belittling people she thought were competition; and other standard mean girl stuff.

The fact that she hasn't been shown to do anything like that whatsoever since then, doesn't seem to have percolated into the author's brain. He's still punishing her for the stuff he wrote way long ago, and expecting readers to understand it.

Bleah.
