I never get tired of posting outrageous Isaiah Thomas stats:

He’s now averaging 29 points on 19.7 shots per game. Only three players (all Hall of Famers: Shaquille O’Neal, Karl Malone, and Adrian Dantley) have ever averaged 29 on 20 or fewer shots, per Basketball Reference.

In the future we will consider it weird there was a guy who had the same name as Isaiah Thomas but it was spelled wrong.

have you seen rondo lately? dude can't play defense, refuses to shoot, and can't shoot free throws. what does this guy offer to an NBA team?

here's rondo's skill set:

-passing
-intrigue
-homophobia
-connect four

Rondo is getting close to the Bulls record of consecutive games without a FT (5+ minutes).

code:
Player First Last Games
John Paxson	1/29/1988	3/18/1988	23
Kirk Hinrich	12/5/2015	1/14/2016	20
Rajon Rondo	12/8/2016	1/21/2017	18

They want the problem to go away. Since Rondo's next year is only partially guaranteed another team may be willing to take a chance.

I will openly laugh at any team that gives him yet another chance. There's an alternate timeline where Rondo doesn't get matched up with three premier HOF players and fizzles out a lot sooner.

Niwrad posted:

I guess I just hate the fact that the front office doesn't seem to have a plan at all. Are they rebuilding? Are they trying to win now?

They're accruing $$$. Rebuilding or winning are secondary and tertiary to their grafting.

Lockback posted:

I'm pretty sure him playing like crap in that Finals was part of why OKC did what they did and avoid offering him a full max, or even keeping him around a year longer.

That's really shortsighted of them. A 22 year old having a subpar finals performance is to be expected. LBJ at the same age of 22 in the 2007 finals had a bunch of below average games.

Harden was great in the playoffs for OKC, even as a rookie. His hiccup was one series where he was asked to cover LeBron defensively and that was right after he was a big part of the Spurs upset.

Watching Harden defend Gasol the other night I'm thinking Scott Brooks was trying some 3d chess poo poo to make Harden realize he can be an okay post defender. It's only now coming to fruition under the masterful defensive tutelage of Mike D'Antoni

There's just so much we don't know about coaching, coach/player/front office interaction. Scotty has tacitly admitted he didn't want to just run Russ Durant isos, but they said, no thanks. Did management back them up? We don't have half of a clue.

We only see the basketball playing and hear tiny snippets of thoughts from tired people who don't really want to talk. There's a world of information that's simply not available to us. Judge not lest ye be judged is my opinion about every coach and player except Reggie Jackson
