The League was a weird show because it had a lot of talented/funny cpmic actors (Jason Manzoutkas, Paul Scheer, Nick Kroll, Fake 9/11 guy, oh and Mumblecore guy), but they had to be in a show about a bunch of boring suburbanites.

jason mantzoukas is a funny guy who one time on the comedy bang bang podcast said "hang on man". it was said kinda quickly and sounded like "hey nong man". its become kind of a running joke, but only on the podcast and online in general

im not sure if he ad-libbed that or told the writers to put it in, or they knew about the joke themselves and put it in there. but its kind of a silly callback to something else he has done in the past
