FULL COMMUNISM NOW
I'm waiting for Aqua to realize that she needs to break out of general contractor hell and apprentice in a more lucrative subcontracting field, like plumbing.

I suspect I'll be waiting for a while.

The hilarious thing is that Kazuma realizes at some point that Aqua is so goddamn good at party tricks (and they're not actually magic, incidentally) that she could make a fortune off of performing them. Literally world-class talent - which goes along with the whole, "she's an actual goddess, and thus is insanely good at everything she does".

...She has yet to realize this, and almost assuredly never will.

Vague speculation: Lurk is one of those luck based skills that for most adventurers are downright useless, but is overpowered in Kazuma's hands because he has a high luck stat. I wonder if casinos exist in a world where someone's luck can be quantified? Would they ban him from entering based on it?

Novel spoilers:
Yes, there's an entire country founded on its casinos, to the point where it's basically the country's sole source of income. And Yes, Kazuma nearly brings them to bankruptcy to get what he wants from them :v:

Those animations were reused from last season so technically it didn't cost them anything this time around. :ssh: :v:

Whoever does the odd (?) numbered episodes has a flair for the weird memefaces, see Kazuma during the interrogation

and yeah S1 had a fair bunch

i'm pretty sure this season's allotted budget was 5 dollars and a can full of jellybeans, so they're actually working miracles here

Maybe because the voice actors are carrying the show so well, they decided to drop the animation budget? After all, it only needs to advertise for the LNs and provide select cute screenshots to sell merchandise.

There's also the possibility some of the VAs got promoted to a higher pay tier (it's all union controlled in Japan) which cut into the total budget.

...People, it's Studio DEEN, they've never bothered spending the money for decent animation in like anything they've animated ever. It just happens to somewhat work for Konosuba unlike most shows. I highly doubt the VA salaries terribly impacted the animation budget.

If anything cut it, it was probably the positive response to bad animation in the first season adding to many people's amusement at the show.

Man we should just have unions for everything. I mean it's a shame that it's probably taking away from the animation budget but we all know that the VAs are basically carrying the show and that DEEN wouldn't do all that much with a higher animation budget anyway. And it's way better than it is here where VAs are completely unknown and paid beans and are generally overlooked for celebrity voices.

Fairly detailed, but it focuses more on the production/management side. Also obligatory "WATCH SHIROBAKO IT'S GOOD."

About as detailed as it can without it becoming a documentary.
