I've been a Democrat for my entire adult life and have also owned guns and shot as a hobby during the same period, so yeah not all lefties hate guns. I sort of want to join/start a local liberal shooting club so I can go to the range with people who aren't racists or parroting everything they heard on Breitbart that day. I've gotta imagine there are enough lefty gun owners in the Milwaukee-Chicago area to support something like that. I put together an AR-15 this year, lots of fun to shoot when you're not doing dumb Army ranges:  As far as it becoming a thing for liberal people to buy guns because they're worried for their safety over political violence, well that's terrifying and speaks volumes about where we are as a society right now.

Thinking I should go for my firearms course and get one. The last time I was shooting (in  , outside LA) I was actually getting decent groupings after overhearing some training someone else was receiving and it would probably be a really good thing to have see as there's a nutcase in the house next door now, and he's got a lot more guns than me.
