How is this even a thing when panel shows are almost completely scripted?

There's scripting at the "we're going to talk about this, dig out your best related anecdotes/old material" level, and then there's scripting as in "here are your scripts, first rehearsal is at noon".

Right, but there's a growing narrative that panel shows have grown closer to the latter, which is a large part of why they're struggling as a genre. I don't know why QI giving people the questions/answers would be particularly controversial, where shows like buzzcocks would give the answers and even have them rehearse the songs, etc.

I think this is it... I think this is how it ends
As I may have said pages and pages back, Buzzcocks at least was scripted completely as my girlfriend was paid minimum wage and not credited for writing for it. A few of the guests were allowed to ad-lib, but not many

They banned VPNs a long time ago. However, it's IP-blacklist based so you've probably just been lucky up til now.

I concur with this, it's super fun once you get past the dopey b-movie premise. Gilgun is hilariously creepy (At the time I remember thinking "that weird skinny guy is the best thing in is.")

I love how a space prison full of murderous psychos has a big red button that opens all the cells at once. Of course it does!

Oh wow, I had no idea John Carpenter successfully sued the makers of the film for ripping off Escape From New York/LA. No wonder there was never a sequel despite the obvious set-up for one.

Failed?
Disconnect - > reconnect - > try again

repeat til bored of trying or it works [assuming it gives a new IP doing this]

A VPN is just not going to reliably get iPlayer anymore.

Good news everybody - yet another Sherlock Holmes adaptation is on the way!

Cast:

Will Ferrell as Sherlock Holmes
John C. Reilly as John Watson
Lauren Lapkus as Millie
Rob Brydon as Inspector Lestrade
Kelly Macdonald as Mrs. Hudson
Rebecca Hall as Dr. Grace Hart
Ralph Fiennes as Professor Moriarty
Hugh Laurie as Mycroft

It sounds stupid as hell but I bet it's still better than the last episode of Sherlock

If they have Ferrell and Brydon play it utterly straight while everyone else chews the scenery around them as insane events occur, it could be amusing.

Well we know that his sister's husband has an unhealthy obsession with Tom Hardy's sexual antics and he also seems sweaty around him and he's just challenged him to a duel 'to the death' - what's the betting that swords don't become pork swords and 'death' is just some poetic license for orgasms a bit like what the French say?

I listened to a radio review and was bugged that someone who was paid to consume media for a living ran out of taboo ideas after "incest and cannibalism". What about crossing the race barrier, the poster is a guy in a top hat w/ a painted face.
Anyway, why did none of the UKTV thread posters inform me that they've been superimposing ghosts into scenes. I had to find that out from the Taboo thread.
