I personally agree, but people have joined SA for a bunch of different reasons, and the site has changed a lot since 1999 or whenever, too. Like, those of us who signed up because of stuff like Awful Link of the Day and Weekend Web, probably tend to find it ridiculous how serious some people get about discussing politics on a comedy site, or think that people are wildly over-sharing personal life details and information in e/n & across the forums, but there really is a bunch of long-standing SA communities and resources, that are genuinely meaningful and helpful to people, and are largely, if not completely removed from the context of SA being a comedy site. It used to happen, but at this point I've been around long enough that most people just sort of go "yeah, that sure is a goonette" and move on. People are usually more concerned with what I do or don't mod than what I look like. The selfie thread basically exists to churn out positive affirmation, but the guy goons that post get just as many compliments as the girls do.

Which happens to be the same picture I use for other things. So, when someone is offended by my sense of humor, it is in essence, the assholes removing themselves from my real life. Which is the biggest blessing this site has ever given me.
