Thinking about it aren't there issues with going from PAL to NTSC? Modern PAL plays 2% faster than NTSC and that looks to be footage from motors TV, could be that it's been screwed up in the conversion and simply playing too slowly. People have the same sort of pseudo arrogance about race car exhausts that they do about wine and it's stupid. The current cars sound fine and better than a lot of stuff that's come before it just like the $8 cheap Italian poo poo I buy tastes just as good as the $50 you pay for in a restaurant and sniff from a glass without a loving clue what you're looking for while you try to look like you're in deep contemplation about its quality.

I mean if we're gonna talk about engine note alone the V10s and V12s sound the best but who really gives a poo poo. If F1 tomorrow brought back the 1967-1988 engine regulations you'd probably end up with a bunch of TT V6s.

And that 1975 footage is probably a really poor audio recording. Lower revving than now naturally so the tone is lower but yeah, a whole pack of them poorly recorded is going to sound like droning.

I would've done it if it was like the old days where the teams were smaller and it was more hand to mouth but I'd probably find it boring as poo poo as it is now. Hearing Murray talk about Brabham or Dernie talk about the early days of Williams always sounded cool as poo poo but I really can't see the current environment bringing any sort of joy or sense of reward when you're 1 of 800 employees endlessly refining a design laid out by the rules.

The big issue in Venezuela is food and rationing, he may own his own home with a generator and have money in the bank, but it's still only one bag of rice per household and people are living off mashed bananas. So the attitude is why bother going to work and keeping the telephones and power on if the state isn't paying them their wages? Utter lunacy that they seem incapable of setting up trade deals with anyone. Britain was very friendly with the old lot, we bought petrol off them for the London busses for years, it's unbelievable that we can't work something out with them now.
