It only takes time because you have to fight against the game itself so often. It's like "make Trico do a thing" is the real antagonist. I agree with you 100%

Yakuza 0 is really enjoyable as my first Yakuza game, but I'm noticing that I'm watching this game more than playing it. Having finished chapter 1, does it expand beyond the 10 minute cutscenes, or am I going to be only occasionally brawling and playing Space Harrier with this thing?

yakuza 0, like every video game, is actually just countless hours of a tutorial.

It's going to be all intro stuff for the first couple chapters. After that you can do what you want. Sidestories unlock with each new chapter.

Let it Die finally came out in Japan so I tried it a bit. Well...it's Grasshopper anyway. It has some good-rear end music at least.

Yakuza prides itself on its storytelling and the quality of its cutscenes, so you will see a lot more of them, but the game will not be walling you off as much after you finish chapter 1.

He does it in English too. Uncle Death's just kind of a weeb that way.

Yeah, the joke is that he's a complete weeabo, and utter dork. The girl in the arcade comments that Uncle Death really has a thing for Japanese dance and the like.

It doesn't really come across in English either. The majority of the screentime for Uncle Death is devoted to: skateboarding, encouraging the player, calling the player senpai.

Chapter 1 is really the only chapter where you're really on rails, you can really dick around during Chapter 2 as long as you feel like it. The only downside though you won't turn on Kiryu's real estate money fountain until Kiryu's third chapter. Still worth doing friendship/substories and what not since they unlock extra people for real estate and properties to buy. Especially mushroom guy.

The next FFXV dlc pack will have sentai outfits for the crew. The chapter 13 plot patch is scheduled for the end of March. They're working on letting you off-road the Regalia as well though that's not a guaranteed feature.

Jack-Off Lantern posted:Not really a spoiler but okay,I fixed it. The game suffers from cat whims. I heard gamepeople chatting about how terrible it was and Trico doesn't to anything and in this day and age if I point at a thing the game better well loving do it right away. Then I played the game, and it was great. Trico had the proper amount "go you stupid cat" to make it feel realistic, and all my concerns about whiny fat gamenerds was unfounded. Then I got stuck, under an obvious ledge, and Trico wouldn't lift me up to it. Took a good while to find a walkthrough cause good luck describing where you are to google. And It broke, and it took me a while to get Trico to lift me up. I got bak into the goove but the illusion of finding our way around as a team was shattered by that moment of video gameness. IF I had not had that glitch, if the whole game can been as it was from the start I can totally see it being GOTY. It was a great twist on the escort quest and inversed game mechanics generally and when Trico overcomes the rules of the game itself to save you that was one of the best moments in gaming in a drat long time. Also gently caress onscreen buttons 24/7

It..really isn't about Trico for me. I loved Trico, it worked. I can see why it doesn't work for people. It has obvious tells as to when commands like Jumping work. The Camera and the Climbing Controls are the big issue I had, in terms of technical aspects. It felt like the 200X game that it was supposed to be. I also just felt that the gameplay was more tedious than SOTC or ICO. What didn't help was the constant popups. I also didn't care to see Trico suffer. The whole pulling out spears thing made me wince and almost quit the game right there at the beginning. It totally wasn't the game for me, I wasn't engrossed in the setting, story or gameplay at all. If this was Nintentricos or Tamatrico, I'd pay 60 Dollars for it, to play with my Custom Trico on a big meadow and throw balls and clean his poop and feed him barrels all day

I never got to play Hotline Miami. Should I just jump straight into 2 or are there not any gameplay differences between 2 and 1? 1 is cheaper.
