Remember, friends don't let friends use Spark as their ISP.

Last time I read the fine print of the major ISP's traffic shaping/management policies, it wasn't even a competition. Spark was the best by a landslide. Whenever friends and family make a quick decision to move to Vodafone to save a ~$10 a year or something they always regret it. Theoretical line speeds are the same but in practice they are almost always worse. For mobile it seems to be the opposite, I've been with Vodafone since they gobbled up Bellsouth and I can't remember a time when they haven't been the most competitive in the prepay space (the new flexi plans are stupid good value). (I know it's bad timing to praise Spark when they just had a bunch of major network outages but whatever...)

There is only one residential ISP worse than Spark and that is Vodafone.

I've been on vodafone cable for 10 years plus, and I've never not been able to get the speeds I am paying for - outside of outages etc....

I use Skinny for my mobile plan because it's the best for data. Annoyingly their network is also Spark's, so it's been down all day too

We need migrants, but we don't need leftovers from Middle East terrorist regimes. If you turn up to the border with an apple, you get done. If you turn up with an Iraqi passport and references from Saddam Hussein, you get in.

Robo Captain posted:https://twitter.com/pmbillenglish/status/826941656196796417 This is one of those cases where I like to use the phrase "Roflcopters". My partner is unemployed but because I "earn too much" is unable to qualify for any assistance. Nevermind the fact that she was the subject of a sexual assault less than half a year after National did away with the specific benefits that could have helped her, defunding the support system that helped her after it or that she has a chronic illness that could be managed much better if a) doctors were able to prescribe enough medication (primarily for pain management) and b) appointments to see specialists didn't take half a year. Maybe more funding would help avoid the multiple St John callouts, A&E trips or visits to After-Hours doctors. This is just a nice way of saying "We'll give you a pat on the back if you do this, but we won't really help you in any way".

Never mind that the best way to get people off benefits is to have meaningful jobs for people to do. Unemployment and benefit dependence is mostly due to lack of jobs over anything else.
