My biggest gripe with DKC 3 is that the redesigned bee looks dumb. It's good other than the stupid lookign bee.

dkc3 may be the best looking title on the snes and it had like worlds you could visit out of order and poo poo. and yeah there's a lot of collectables but it's not like dk64 or whatever. i dunno. whatever. it's my opinion!!!!!

smw has just as much 'world' even if there's only seven big castles. it's how the worlds are connected in a way that's far more organic and complex than in smb3...like, to get from one world to another in 3 you have to use a whistle or beat an airship level, and after that you can pretty much forget that world even existed. but in smw you can walk across the entirety of the map as long as you've gotten that far. idk it's just a big thing for me, it really made a big impression on me when I was a kid. as for sound and graphics..hey, it is what it is. I'm going to have more fun with a game that, all else being equal, looks and sounds better than the another.

I've played and beaten Mario 3 a few times and it's good, but I never understood the ppl who swear by it as the pinnacle of 2d Mario when SMW and Yoshi's Island exist

trying to jack off posted:mario 3 just has better levels like I said, I consider them about equal. hell the edge should be given to SMW because its levels were designed with the spin jump mechanic in mind, whereas smb3 didn't even have that. BUT!!!! maybe we can say that the cape is a bit overpowered as opposed to the leaf which is an overall detriment to the level design of SMW. i can admit that.
