I thought the lib dems were there for working class areas that used to vote conservative before Maggie shut down the mines and the unions and just can't loving let it go already. I live in such an area and no joke "write to Skinner" is the go to advice when you have an issue. This is good advice. He will annoy your own MP or your council into looking very carefully into your issue and then contact you to make sure it's been done. Skinner especially likes letters that complain about other MPs.

A similar fate awaits Labour (and the UK) if they don't start getting much more consistently and loudly on the attack, with concrete plans and decent control of the narrative, because right now "Eh maybe gas bills could be a bit lower" isn't a slogan to get people out in 2020.

Our PSBR would be in almost exactly the same place had the credit crunch never happened because - and this needs to be branded on the forehead of anyone who talks about the economy like it's a credit card - AUSTERITY DOES NOT REDUCE DEBT.
