If the "anti-DeVos politicians are corrupt and in the pocket of BIG TEACHER" cartoon from a few days ago was the epitome of opposite_of_reality.jpg, this one is the archetypal example of a cartoon that makes no loving sense if you didn't spend your whole life quarantined inside a far-right-blog news bubble

I thought about doing it for some of the really opposite_of_reality ones and naming them blue panels, but that would take more effort then is worth it for that comic.

Honestly I really like it. If only it had competent art.

"Haha we're going to murder you if you protest! Also stop calling us Nazis or we'll put you in camps! The beatings will continue until morale improves!"

Is there currently a better, more accurate comic about the current administration than this one?

In Right Wing speech, Gun Control = No Guns Ever

It's been mentioned before, but, every Right-Wing "confronting the Lib'rul with mah big manly gun" fantasy hinges on this idea that just because Liberals believe in gun control that they will all be unarmed and meekly surrender when faced with a real weapon.

It's the same logic they apply in A Christmas Movie anytime Ralphie fantasizes about his BB gun - The bad guys never actually pose any sort of threat, and are quick to flee as soon as they realize he has the coveted rifle, because that's how it works in a child's power fantasy.

Are there? I don't know the details of most of those, but the VT case showed otherwise and I don't think much has changed.
Fake edit: After review it involved him falling through a few cracks that were partially covered afterwards (differences between state and federal criteria). Were any of the others evaluated as a threat at some point?

Redpanels reminds me a lot of Day by Day in this regard. Just without the self-insert, porn, and rape fantasies. But the willful density feels awfully similar.

Apparently Clay Bennett has been having some trouble on Twitter

The original cartoon:

The parody has been taken down by Twitter. This reminds me of the whole Chip Bok thing, but I think there's something different- mainly removing attribution. Even though the edit was dumb, it doesn't seem to be that different from what other people in this very thread have done, though.

Yeah if your mental state leads a medical professional to believe you are a threat to yourself or others that is when one tends to get hospitalized involuntarily. Sometimes that doesn't happen, of course. But that threat does not come part and parcel with one's diagnosis.

Off the top of my head, I'd say edits that show up in this thread like "the cartoonist has no idea how net neutrality works" fall under fair use because it attributes to them, it's making a criticism of the original work that inherently needs the original to make sense, AND it's not trying to be passed off as a wholly original idea of the person who edited it.

That last point is the most important, which is why it's especially funny that Bok lost his poo poo about the signature being left on. Even most of the edits that run around in these threads are, from context, understood to be derivative works, and they rarely end up in the wider world to cause problems.

Art theft is a real problem online, and this is a clear-cut case of it.
