Make sure that when everyone who gets their drivers license issued/renewed is verbally told this, then made to sign an statement indicating they understand it. Them heavily publicize a few cases of people being left to die because they refused to be a doner. Or change the DMV rules so that becoming an organ doner allows you to cut to the front of the line. Or you don't have to pay your license fee.

I have seen research in behavioral econ that just by making it opt-out instead of opt-in the rates go from like 30% to 90% or something ridiculous.

the problem with eating placentas and rhino horn to get boners and eternal youth is that people gently caress up by thinking they can also just eat the donated organs instead of having them surgically implanted

I think the liver transplants are faked (either on paper or otherwise) which would balloon the number. Chinese doctors performs the most liver transplants read a headline in the Guardian.

If I was in China I'd be afraid of them going down a list of donors and disappearing them as needed.

I dunno why people are squeamish about giving bits of yourself that you no longer need. Hell, at least with blood you're conscious and sapient.

They made organ donating an opt-out thing a couple of years ago in many European countries. Everyone shrugged and went along their daily business, problem solved. I mean, I don't think anyone is exactly going to be 100% okay with the thought of someone taking out your liver and stuffing it inside someone else, but this should be one thing every adult person should be pretty cool with. Getting to save lives should bring you some consolation when you're facing losing yours. (Of course some FYGM types might call this Organ Communism if the matter ever comes up in the States, calling it already.)

I do really enjoy the train of thought of someone that assumes the best from people "These numbers seem absurdly above average, the only way it's possible is.....China is harvesting organs from criminals in order to achieve their results!" when in reality anyone who knows anything about reports here would think: "These numbers seem absurdly above average, the only way it's possible is....China is making up all of the numbers, as they do with any other report involving numbers!"

So can you pick and choose which organs you wanted to donate? Or is it all in/ all out?
|
# ? Feb 9, 2017 10:27 |
|
Normally that would be the case; but between harvesting from people the populace won't clamour over or letting party members and their affiliates die due to a lack of voluntary donors, it kinda becomes apparent. Especially when you consider how many people affiliated with the CCP must be in real lovely condition with the heart, liver, lungs and kidneys.

Automatic Slim posted:So can you pick and choose which organs you wanted to donate? Or is it all in/ all out? Many countries let you choose. Japan is opt-in and I would say a majority of people, especially older generations, refuse to donate on religious grounds. But they'll happily take a donated organ if they need to. Israel was recently kicked out of the EU transplant system for similar reasons. The back of my insurance card: 1. Brain and/or cardiac death 2. Cardiac death only 3. None Cross out organs you refuse to donate: heart lungs liver kidney pancreas colon eyes

Interesting to see that card as last I heard on the topic years ago death was considered a matter of Cardiac death, not Brain death, in Japan.Stringent posted:If I was in China I'd be afraid of them going down a list of donors and disappearing them as needed. Cases of HIV/Aids rose sharply in China after a major scandal in Henan province in the 1990s, when farmers who sold their blood contracted HIV through poor safety practices. Donors' collected blood was pooled together and the lucrative plasma removed. The remaining blood, now cross-contaminated, was then injected back into the donors so they could donate again soon. lol

Also I'm kind of concerned about the action the doctor took. He just gave the kid a laxative in the hope that they pass through quickly, but given that these things are extremely water absorbent, they could cause serious dehydration.

And the cure for dehydration is drinking water. That child is loving dead.

EDIT: Was it the Hunan or the Henan Centipede? I would say that the majority of the loonies, butthurts, cry babies, and mood-swingers I meet (and are in my stories) are all from Hunan. They represent the biggest portion of my Chinese women experiences, of which nearly every single one turned out bad with them. Maybe it's the local culture there promoting the immaturity and insanity that comes with them, but now I immediately run away if someone tells me they are from Hunan. Had I had this knowledge before, I would have had a much smoother time dating in China. It's also why I don't have much updates in that category, because since abandoning Hunan people I have had a normal time. That last Hunan person was that girl a few pages back with the chatting addiction. Haier fucked around with this message at 05:41 on Feb 10, 2017 |
