I really like this one. Make sure that when everyone who gets their drivers license issued/renewed is verbally told this, then made to sign an statement indicating they understand it. Them heavily publicize a few cases of people being left to die because they refused to be a doner.

Or change the DMV rules so that becoming an organ doner allows you to cut to the front of the line. Or you don't have to pay your license fee.

I have seen research in behavioral econ that just by making it opt-out instead of opt-in the rates go from like 30% to 90% or something ridiculous.

Except that everybody will just sign up the moment they need one. The rate isn't nearly high enough.

Maybe time as a donor could count for something when determining where on the recipient list you fall?

Well, I mean this is basically what they're doing, except instead of voluntary donors it's prisoners they've locked up for belonging to dissident political groups or whatever

They made organ donating an opt-out thing a couple of years ago in many European countries. Everyone shrugged and went along their daily business, problem solved. I mean, I don't think anyone is exactly going to be 100% okay with the thought of someone taking out your liver and stuffing it inside someone else, but this should be one thing every adult person should be pretty cool with. Getting to save lives should bring you some consolation when you're facing losing yours. (Of course some FYGM types might call this Organ Communism if the matter ever comes up in the States, calling it already.)

when in reality anyone who knows anything about reports here would think:

Normally that would be the case; but between harvesting from people the populace won't clamour over or letting party members and their affiliates die due to a lack of voluntary donors, it kinda becomes apparent.

Especially when you consider how many people affiliated with the CCP must be in real lovely condition with the heart, liver, lungs and kidneys.

Many countries let you choose. Japan is opt-in and I would say a majority of people, especially older generations, refuse to donate on religious grounds.
But they'll happily take a donated organ if they need to. Israel was recently kicked out of the EU transplant system for similar reasons.

The back of my insurance card:
1. Brain and/or cardiac death
2. Cardiac death only
3. None

Cross out organs you refuse to donate:
heart lungs liver kidney pancreas colon eyes

Interesting to see that card as last I heard on the topic years ago death was considered a matter of Cardiac death, not Brain death, in Japan.

Cases of HIV/Aids rose sharply in China after a major scandal in Henan province in the 1990s, when farmers who sold their blood contracted HIV through poor safety practices.

Donors' collected blood was pooled together and the lucrative plasma removed. The remaining blood, now cross-contaminated, was then injected back into the donors so they could donate again soon.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/peoplesdaily/article-4199708/Parents-fed-280-expandable-water-balls-daughter.html

quote:

Careless parents mistakenly fed their three-year-old daughter a full bottle of expandable water balls on February 1 in Shuyang, east China's Jiangsu province.

The report on Huanqui, an affiliation to People's Daily Online, stated the father did not notice he was feeding his daughter expandable water balls until the mother picked the last one up off the floor.

The three-year-old girl, nicknamed Xiao Xin, was given medication to expel 200 water balls out of her body. The remaining water balls are expected to discharge within the next 24 hours.

The young mother told the reporter that she went out to buy sweets from a nearby mini market and thought the one she grabbed was her daughter's favourite sweets, which look like Wonka Rainbow Nerds.

The mini-market owner forgot to tell her that the colourful granules were in fact expandable water balls.

The woman gave the capsules to her husband, who fed them to Xiao Xin while his wife was cooking.

Xiao Xin's father recalled that he 'poured the water balls out on his palm and fed her in bunches.'

The parents didn't realise the error of their ways until they picked up the last 'candy', which had dropped on the floor.

The mother ate it and immediately spat it out.

'It's very hard and not sweet, then I notice it's not candy but the expandable water balls,' she recalled.

The parents panicked when they looked at the empty bottle. They returned to the mini-market to buy another bottle in a bid to find out how many balls it contained. They counted a total of 280 water beads.

Water beads expand when they are in contact with water. They are made of durable, super-absorbent polymers, absorbing water up to 50 to 100 times its original weight.

They promptly sent their daughter to Huai'an Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital.

Doctor Xia Sun Lin took an X-ray of Xiao Xin and located the water balls. He then prescribed medications with the effect of laxatives to stimulate her bowel movement.

That night Xiao Xin had expelled more than 10 water balls and they were slightly expanded.

The following three days, the parents took pictures of her excretion and counted over 200 water balls.

...

I'm actually willing to look past the buffoonery of these people feeding their child plastic, since these things actually do look a lot like candy. But why the gently caress would you even buy a bottle of what you think is candy and then sit there feeding your little kid [i[the whole loving thing[/i] in one sitting?

Also I'm kind of concerned about the action the doctor took. He just gave the kid a laxative in the hope that they pass through quickly, but given that these things are extremely water absorbent, they could cause serious dehydration.

Gargamel Gibson

Since it is Mainland China, the easiest explanation is it a Face-saving excuse for the fact that they were trying to murder their kid and failed. It didn't work, so they shifted the blame onto the product.

DNA mutations steadily increased until the Hunan Centipede as born!

EDIT: Was it the Hunan or the Henan Centipede?

I would say that the majority of the loonies, butthurts, cry babies, and mood-swingers I meet (and are in my stories) are all from Hunan. They represent the biggest portion of my Chinese women experiences, of which nearly every single one turned out bad with them. Maybe it's the local culture there promoting the immaturity and insanity that comes with them, but now I immediately run away if someone tells me they are from Hunan. Had I had this knowledge before, I would have had a much smoother time dating in China. It's also why I don't have much updates in that category, because since abandoning Hunan people I have had a normal time. That last Hunan person was that girl a few pages back with the chatting addiction.
