Man, I watched The Beguiled knowing nothing about it while going through Clint's filmography chronologically. My reaction was basically, "Holy poo poo, that was pretty good," and, "Holy poo poo, I can't believe the kind of stories they could get away with telling in the 70s." Didn't realize at the time it was a massive flop. Still one of those movies I can suggest to people who have no idea what it is. This remake looks practically identical, which always leads me to wonder what the point is.

I am just not sure what the 2017 appeal is for a movie about a bunch of manipulative people that doesn't really have anything resembling a sympathetic or heroic lead? the absolute worst titles are the ones that are just a first or last name, like Paterson. it blows my mind that Paul Thomas Anderson thought Sydney would've been a better title than Hard Eight.

The Mary Shelley biopic was formerly titled A Storm in the Stars. It is now titled, wait for it, Mary Shelley. At least people know who she is. But that's a drat downgrade. Not going from A Princess of Mars to John Carter level or anything, but still pretty bad.

I'm sure I'll like the film itself, I tend to really like Jarmusch, it was just the first example that popped into my head. It works in biopics I guess, I doubt I could come up with better titles for Jackie or Patton.
