Bashez posted:That second year on his contract being a player option is vexing. The Spurs seem kind of screwed cap wise in the near future. I can't imagine Pau opting out and I don't think Manu's money coming off the books is going to get them under the cap. Conservative estimate is 100 million, projected salary for the Spurs next year is 93 mil. They obviously probably want to re-sign Jonathon Simmons but the Gilbert Arenas rule may help them there.

The Kings twitter has been great all year. More teams should protest this dumb rule. Why would you take away one of the reasons people enjoy your league? It's not like trashtalk is detrimental to anything. It just builds hype.

Sure doesn't sound like "Serbian nationalism" to me... Critically, the use of debt warfare has become standard practice post Yugoslavia, while the US still refuses to use its own privileged debt position to spend in a way that would benefit average citizens. They're happy to swing the sword both ways. And the looting of Yugoslav and Soviet public property was more or less a trial balloon for the even more lucrative privatization of US and UK public assets. The only way to hold people to their predictions is to have some kind of consequences for getting it wrong. All you Porterheads are talking big, but as far as I can tell, the only thing Otto Porter is doing particularly well this season is hitting threes—if it wasn't for that, he'd be the most average and boring as gently caress player imaginable. I am willing to bet that his 46% three point accuracy is a huge fluke, and I'm willing to bet two dollars for every one of your dollars (to be donated to a charity of the winner's choice) that he shoots worse than 40% after the all star break. Who will step up? The rules are: 1. Regular season only, between Feb 24 and Apr 12. 2. If he attempts fewer than 50 threes in that span, the bet's off. 3. If Porter shoots 40% or better, I will donate twice the amount you bet to a charity of your choice. 4. If Porter does not make 40% of his threes, you donate your bet to a charity of my choice. 5. Proof of donation is a screencap of the reciept with any identifying info blacked out.

He has such an awesome understanding of the game that the Nuggets otherwise crowded offense has been completely revitalized. Towns and Davis's defense are way better than him though. And he still picks up a ton of crappy fouls. Either way Jokic is a beast.

It is my belief that while a player may work harder whenever he wants, he cannot will the ball to go in at a higher rate, no matter the financial stakes.
