The guy still thinks he can repair his friendship with his roommate at this point. He's been blindsided by it completely.

I think the dude is entitled to think that the reaction wouldn't be "jerk off to anime porn with door open."

Hard to not be blindsided by that, unless you're Mirthless apparently.

I don't understand what other form that readiness takes. He was coping pretty well as things escalated, and now he's reached his threshold.

It is bizarre bordering on adorable how much you want to push responsibility for this onto the aggrieved, more-than-accommodating party.

Oh no, I'd date her. I don't mean it's OP's responsibility at all. I'm just saying I think I'd expect a pretty negative reaction out of someone I described the way OP described his roommate although I'm not sure I'd expect the open-door-hentai thing.

lol if you think even even a small portion of guys would ask their friend's permission to date a girl they both know. Cultivating creepy little possessive crushes on your friends is not something adults should do.

That said it's a different situation if the girl has actually been involved with a friend.

I didn't mean it as "Do I have your blessing?" or anything.

This.

The roommate can also be dealing with completely unrelated poo poo since it has been 6 months. Doesn't excuse his behavior but could be unrelated to the relationship given what was posted unless I missed something.

The guy is so surprised in his post about the fallout when the fallout is (not specifically, but somewhat, in a general sense) predictable. You are taking everything I am saying to an extreme when I'm not going that far.

He is perfectly right to be surprised and you are loving weird for thinking he shouldn't be surprised.

No, him jerking off with the door open was not a predictable reaction! But their friendship melting down and him being out a roommate is a pretty predictable one, and that seems to be most of what he's broken up about in the post

Me [25F] with my ex girlfriend [24F] should I give her back her underwear?

quote:

My ex girlfriend broke up with me about two months ago, after two years together. Things ended up pretty badly because she lied about the reasons she was beaking up with me, so I am currently mad other than heartbroken.
We go to the same university and have common lessons and friends so we are "forced" to at least say hello.
We didn't do the "I'll give you your things back" bit because we both believe that presents stay presents even when people break up.
The thing is... I have her underwear.
She slept frequently at mines so she left a couple of bras and 4/5 panties in my drawer. Should I tell her if she wants them back? If she wanted them back, shouldn't she have told me by now? What do I do with this stuff, throw it away? I really don't want to see her or talk to her if it's not absolutely necessary.
tl;dr: My ex left a few pieces of underwear at my house. I don't want to see her or talk to her, but should I contact her to know if she wants them back? If not, should I just throw them away?

Just saying that hating on anime nerds because of their hobbies is really juvenile poo poo and is not a good look. It does not make you seem like the bigger man/woman. In fact, it makes you seem like a dumb as heck middle school rear end in a top hat. Goons and other people on the internet have a hard-on for hating on anime, which literally not a single person out in the real world cares about, as long as said anime nerds aren't ultra annoying and incredibly socially inept about their interests. Which most people aren't. The vocal minority of the worst kinds of weirdos is not your typical anime fan out in the wild. I have plenty of friends who are into anime and it's just one of their many other hobbies that makes up who they are. Anime is good and cool and you all suck.

Exactly. And I think the only reasonable response is to leave HIS bedroom door open so that anime tentacle rape porn jerker can't help but see him smashing her back doors in when he walks by to go to the WC.

Bonus point for looking him in the eye and giving two 'thumbs up' gesture without breaking stroke. Or her noticing.
