When I was 17, my father was so stupid, I didn't want to be seen with him in public. When I was 24, I was amazed at how much the old man had learned in just 7 years.
The closest it looks to Portland to running an offense was when Plumlee was generally touching the ball. Which I guess Portland didn't do much when Lillard was on the floor so maybe they don't see a problem, and it's not like their offense is bad on paper (although I'd argue the three is covering up a lot of bad) He was probably their third best player on most nights.

Nurkic is a potentially good defender, but his complete stiff nature on offense made him hard to have on the floor sometimes. I don't believe anything about his personality since Denver is one of the open practitioners of "exit planning," or using the media to corrode fan opinion of guys they want to move.

I don't know if Plumlee can play with Jokic for sure, but I think he can. Maybe not against teams going small. But that gives Denver another guy who can pass really well and likes to play team offense. So even if Plumlee is coming off the bench he could be a real boon to the bench unit.

Denver is an okay drafting team (a lot of my respected draft analyzers are pretty critical of them for drafting pretty similar players a lot, and similar players to players they already have, but I think in practice these guys end up distinctive), Portland's mostly a good drafting team, so the pick is a bit more valuable to Portland than Denver and they probably aren't going to get a player as good with Plumlee with it. Of course, probably neither will Portland. But if they really were going to let him go in the offseason (which I don't know about, I feel like he's a good guy to give the mini-Max to, if you have to cut, cut elsewhere), I guess that's a move you do.
