Reddit's GDTs sometimes have weird little facts about number of posts, team flairs etc. I don't read the actual threads because Reddit. But I feel like their word stats fit that one pretty well.

Imagine Goldblum's train of thoughts. He traded away a star player because the coach didn't like him. Now he's gonna have to fire the coach because his peewee system doesn't work without stellar goaltending. "Boy I sure hope nobody asks why I didn't fire Therrien before I got rid of a fan favorite just to please him."

Even by the standards of which we expect guys to get axed, Joe Sakic really should be dead man walking. Instead I haven't heard anything about him being let go and the Avs are trusting him with the fire sale.

Visiting Nashville, glad I picked tonight's game to go to and not the 7-4 loss from yesterday. Preds looked mostly ok, but man did the Stars just tank in the final period. Bridgestone arena was always nice, but they really made it a lot shinier since I was last there (4-5 years ago).

Regarding the husk of Joe Thornton, his point production and TOI has declined a ton this season, but he does seem to be making his team better. They generate a ton of dangerous shots with him: And he makes most players on the ice with him better: He and Hertl don't seem to sync up but Joe Pavelski, um... kinda likes to play with jumbo Joe to understate it.

Just watched the full dtmts highlights (my feed was INSANELY choppy so I effectively missed a ton) and man oh man pastas setup for that inevitable 4th goal was, as the kids say: "sick as gently caress." Chara's moves for the second goal wasn't half bad and McQuaids was a poor, poor man's Burnziesquian goal. Spring Break My Heart posted:Green was 4th on his own team in scoring in both his big years, which is quite a bit different than being 4th in the league, 10 points clear of #2 on your team and in striking distance of #1. Part of that was he missed a quarter of the season in his 30 goal year, but then that is a legitimate strike against you. Green didn't actually deserve to win in either year and he never had anything close to what Burns is doing this season. Burns definitely deserves the Norris this year, but it's interesting to see the unanimous hype for Burns given the intense debate over the award last year. On the same date last year, Karlsson had 62 points in 56 games (3rd in NHL scoring), led his team in scoring by 17 points, and led the next-highest scorer on defense (Burns) by 16 points. This year, Burns has 59 points in 57 games (4th in NHL scoring), is leading his team in scoring by 11 points, and leads the next-highest scorer on defense (Karlsson) by 14 points. Aside from the goals and overall team strength, not all that much difference - but the Norris front runner all last season was Doughty, whereas there hasn't been much talk of anyone but Burns winning it this year. bub spank fucked around with this message at 16:16 on Feb 13, 2017 |

I think this is because Karlsson has the perception of being all offense and no defense whereas many consider Burns more of a two-way guy. Mike Green had the same problem. Not saying that perception is accurate, but that's how a lot of people in the hockey world think.
