The very last section of Thumper -- 9-omega and Infinity -- drags it down a lot, in my estimation; if it had been handled better, I'd be really excited about having beaten it, but as it is, I'm just glad it's over. Laser rings on bosses (especially stage loving 4 of bosses) is needlessly cruel, and don't even get me loving started on Infinity's gimmick. What a lovely end to a fantastic game.

That camera move from the new Star Trek where the camera follows something far away and zooms in a kind of found footage looking way or something, Man of Steel rips the move off too and it's terrible.

I'm sure somebody know the thing I'm describing.

edit: haha I'm sure you can understand my mistake here.

Could of done a sneaky edit to just put Kane and Lynch 2 and none would be the wiser you were secretly mad at a movie.

Literally a few segments in Resident Evil 7. I will see myself out.

Oh also a Blair Witch game iirc, a few by now I am sure.

The segments from RE7 is actually what got me interested. A game composed entirely of tapes like that would be pretty cool.

It's so loving frustrating, where the rest of the game was intensely difficult but totally fair, let's go ahead and remove the concept of rhythm from a rhythm game, that's a cool idea.

The rhythm is still there, it's just being remixed on the fly, and always in predictable patterns. It still twists your brain into a pretzel after so long trying to stay on the beat, though.

The final version of the Evil Head gave me a lot more trouble, I was hung up on that bastard for almost an hour and a half.

I don't know why these peeps are going to spend $15 bucks on a game with one thicc lady, when they can spend $20 on a game where you can have infinite thicc ladies.

And thicc ladies wearing bikinis made of bones.

And thicc ladies wearing bikinis made of bones while sporting a giant dong.

Super Street Fighter 2 HD seems to have variable AI so the same character who just clowned on my Ryu can then go lose the next fight to hadoken spam. I wanted to fight and (eventually) beat the first AI by getting better, not get victory basically handed to me drat it.

Playing Morrowind yet again. Gathering alchemy ingredients is very fiddly, particularly those green stalks (saltrice, marshmerrow?) because they have narrow hit boxes and you have to activate them individually making gathering even a single group of them an irritating task. Even in the sequels you need a gathering mod to save you this inconvenience and those games compound by hiding their stuff in long grass. At some point I will inevitably say "gently caress it" and just exploit the bartering system. I have most of the exploits modded out but drinking fortify personality potions en masse still works.

Nioh looked at Dark Souls' good healing item system and Bloodborne's bad one and decided to go for something in between rather than just using the good one. Also most of the game's missions, of which there are many, have a hard mode but for some reason rather than just letting you play them when you want they rotate two available ones per day.

Speaking of that system in Bloodborne, there was literally no reason not to freely refill your bullets and blood vials after each death/return to the Hunter's dream. Having them as finite resources was an incredibly irritating decision and makes you feel like you're having to farm them, even if you don't actually need to.

Don't even need to stop them dropping from enemies for in-combat top ups. Just don't draw on them as a regular item.

Nioh is pretty much the same except you get a few free ones when resting. You can increase this amount on a per region basis, but you'll have to farm them if you want to hold the maximum amount. You can't buy them from the vendor like you could in Bloodborne either. They have to be farmed as drops.

I hate to sound like a fighting game broken record but you cant really improve versus an AI in a fighting game. If you have issues with getting moves out and not dropping combos you need to hit up practice and if you want to get better at reading opponents and responding to them you need to play a human being.

Kill everything and you can explore to your hearts content. Dark Souls 2 only respawns things like twelve times before it's dead forever until the next NG+ cycle.

You can make an offering at the shrines of equipment and items and it will net you amrita, some useful consumables, and elixir. I try to offer all my excess loot every once in a while to stay topped up on elixir.

Ah, I didn't realize this gave anything but token amrita. Still, it would be better if it just gave them to you without any extra steps.

Summoning is fun. I liked helping my friends play through the games when they had trouble. I'll never understand the people who get upset when people play through the game with summons. It makes the game an entirely different experience.

The original release of dark souls 2 looks way uglier than I remember.

For the longest time I didn't bother with it because I wanted the True Dark Souls Experience, but then I realized throwing myself at brick walls until I finally got it right wasn't fun and just started summoning every time.
