Kings retain 20% salary, if Caps win two or more playoff rounds during the 2017 playoffs and Gilbert plays in 50% or more of Caps' total playoff games then Caps will send 5th round pick in 2017 entry draft to LA. If not met, Kings get nothing.

Vermette got the 10 game automatic suspension. The Ducks could theoretically appeal but it probably wouldn't be a good idea. Also Don Henderson, the linesman that Wideman decked, hasn't worked since that game and may be forced to retire.

We had this what-if with wideman but they could also increase vermette's suspension, and it might be easier to prove intent when he's not concussed, looking right at the ref, and there was nothing going on around him e: specifically, 20 games is abuse of an official with intent

Yeah, Vermette's suspension could absolutely be increased if he appealed. Refs/linesmen probably wouldn't be likely to give the Ducks any breaks, either.
