If they give Clarkson a job, they need to offer one to Vinny Prospal. I still don't like that JD & Jarmo heel turn. Did someone say "heel turn"? https://twitter.com/PeeAirMcWire/status/831906483071746049 Beautiful.

Wasn't the Horton/Clarkson move basically entirely a budget thing for the Jackets?

Yeah, I'm not really getting how he's "part of the organization"? Will Arizona reward Pavel for his loyal service to the club when his contract is up? E: or, right, I forgot he actually played a couple games with the jackets. 4 points in 26 games, lol. Cocaine Bear fucked around with this message at 18:41 on Feb 15, 2017 |

Kings retain 20% salary, if Caps win two or more playoff rounds during the 2017 playoffs and Gilbert plays in 50% or more of Caps' total playoff games then Caps will send 5th round pick in 2017 entry draft to LA. If not met, Kings get nothing.

Caps need a depth right-handed D in case of injury. They only have Carlson and Niskanen right now.

I thought that said Tom Wilson to LA at first and was going to joke if that was their difference-maker for the playoffs.Aphrodite posted:Their situation was that an expensive bad player is still better than paying a guy who can't play. Horton was on LTIR too, the key for them is the insurance so they're not on the hook for as much.

Vermette got the 10 game automatic suspension. The Ducks could theoretically appeal but it probably wouldn't be a good idea. Also Don Henderson, the linesman that Wideman decked, hasn't worked since that game and may be forced to retire.

We had this what-if with wideman but they could also increase vermette's suspension, and it might be easier to prove intent when he's not concussed, looking right at the ref, and there was nothing going on around him e: specifically, 20 games is abuse of an official with intent

Yeah, Vermette's suspension could absolutely be increased if he appealed. Refs/linesmen probably wouldn't be likely to give the Ducks any breaks, either.

Should be 20 games. At least Wideman had some kind of quasi explanation in the sense you can see it being worth a defense. Vermette has no excuse of any type.

He made the mistake of looking at us and letting us know we were getting to him while we were chirping him. Now he takes dumb penalties any time he's near our section. (Topped off with a delay of game tonight.) He was considered by some to be the top D prospect in the Flyers system before we drafted Provorov. He could wind up being a top pairing guy someday, but he's definitely a longer-term project.
