Really? I saw this on Amazon the other day and it looks like it's listed at least for order:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/140127238X/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_16?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Fair enough. I pre-ordered it last September when it was solicited for mid-July, and when that date came and went I assumed that was it and they'd given up.

Probably just this weird issue Amazon UK seem to have with listing this stuff.

Thanks man, I finally bit the bullet on Absolute Sandman vol 3 (I got vol 4 but not 3 for some reason) for $40 so it stacks on top of their discounts.

I got an e-mail from InStockTrades that the DM variant was delayed and should be available next week. They had a similar (if not the exact same) issue with the Shang Chi omnibus V2 DM variant where most of their order wasn't filled and I wasn't able to order it until today, which was 4-6 weeks after it was meant to be released.

For Xmas, I'm planning to get my "Creepshow"-loving fiancee one of the EC horror Archives. I thought to start with Tales from the Crypt Vol. 1, but since it's an anthology series I'm not sure if the first stories are the strongest. Are any of the three "main" EC horror series volumes particularly acclaimed? Or is the quality pretty equal among them all?

I finally did the thing; I have two different Star Wars series' on their way to Herring and Robinson for binding. I'm incredibly excited. While its gonna cost me a pretty penny, reclaiming space in my comic boxes and being able to easily re-read my old comics is gonna be a blast.

Amazon has $10 off $25+ books with code: HOLIDAYBOOK

I grabbed the From Hell Hardcover for about $20 after tax since Top Shelf published books never go above 30% off anywhere. The March Trilogy Slipcase also looks like a good deal since it is from Top Shelf and just won a National Book Award.

I use comicbookdb.com. It's not pretty, but it's functional and free. Web only, though.

I can ask my buddy what he uses. He recently cataloged everything by scanning the barcodes with his phone's camera.

Here was his reply:

comic collector. i think i paid the $30 or whatever it was for it.

it is... meh. i did all my square bound books probably in 5-6 hours while half-paying attention to TV. the barcode scanning was hit-or-miss so you have to double check even if you get a hit. i still have to tackle my floppies, but i feel those will be easier (though there are many more of them). the problem with the trades is i was insistent on getting the "right" version which was hard for a lot of things that have gone through lots of printings (sandman, for instance, is a complete loving mess).

Do they still limit you to 200 books unless you pay up? That's what stopped me from using them, but that was like ten years ago.

Just finished reading End of Days. Very good read. I like it from the beginning until the end. Very glad they tell you what "that word" meant. Would be really annoyed if they didn't; although I would understand why they wouldn't. Either way, good stuff.

On to reading Young Avengers.

I use 'book catalogue' on the google store. Free and really easy to use, I dont think theres an upper limit either as im on 1700+ books and havnt hit a ceiling.

I finally sent in my comics, and today I got back the entire run of Kanan and the entire run of Darth Vader, bound together.

Spelling mistake aside (and I already contacted the bindery, hopefully there's something they can do for me...) these turned out GREAT. I was a bit concerned about the Vader book being unwieldy due to its size, but its not uncomfortable to hold or anything. No complaints at all about the binding itself, and as long as they can do something for me regarding the spelling error, I'll definitely be getting more stuff bound in the future.

Did anyone pick up the Deadpool by Posehn & Duggan Omnibus? I was interested because its cheaper than buying the hardcovers i don't have. However, a lot of people are having issues with the binding. I'm hoping it's just a few bad copies but I don't wanna buy a book that falls apart after a couple of sittings.

Is everyone having issues with the binding or was it just a bad batch?

I ordered it but haven't opened it yet. I'll give it a look once I get home. Overall I've had a pretty good experience with Marvel omnibuses, though I know plenty have said otherwise (pages stuck together, coloring being off, etc...).

Be glad you don't have the trades for the Ultimate Marvel line. They're all over the place design wise. Fantastic Four was the only title to keep a consistent design. Ultimate X-Men especially was all over the place. Which is appropriate given the content of the books.

Do they just farm these out to the lowest bidder and not keep any templates or settings for these? It shouldn't be hard to keep the formatting consistent.
