A lot of the Canadians I've met still use a lot of imperial units. Same with older Australians.

If you have a .2500-28 UNJF-3A bolt and your drawing tells me the shank is 6,35 and it's 19,05 long, yeah, you're Doing It Wrong.

Hey AI. I have an iPhone. Sometimes I take pictures with it. Some of those pictures need to go on my personal imgur account so I can Currently my workflow is horrible. I email them to myself, go on a computer, upload them to imgur, and then use them in my shitposts. Considering my 9-5 is to charge exorbitant amounts of money to make computers of all sizes do all the right things and none of the wrong things, this is slightly embarrassing. Walk me through this like I was your grandma. How do I go overpriced Tim Cook device -> imgur account in as few steps as possible?

Just gave beetle an emergency enema, on advice from the vet, because I'm 99% certain he vomited poop. Even if he has a blockage, and that is magically cured by the enema, it's been 4 days and I'm advised he most likely has fatty liver syndrome, and will most likely then die anyway. I'm going to keep trying, but I don't want suffering to be prolonged. If he starts having seizures, that's it. I'm probably going to have to loving euthanize my cat, on most likely the same day I leave my fiancee. I have benadryl prep, argon, a gun (unfortunately I know how and where to do it if it comes to that, from experience), and possibly the vet if it comes on slowly. The vet says she understands, whichever way it goes. They're all viable, and it would be minimum stress whichever way. I hope he recovers. I'm gonna keep trying. gently caress even discussing this. But I have to tell somebody. Note: this is not the "poor poor pitiful me" podcast. Just an update. Continue on.

Not knowing poo poo is rarely something to take pride in. There has been literally zero reasons that I have used Imperial for 20 years. Zero. Not a single valid reason. So basically I'm not going to bother as it is in no way relavent. And where exactly would I need to know it? There isnt a single bolt I use that is Imperial, not a single piece of equipment, no tool absolutly and completely nothing. I dont weigh anything in Imperial, I dont do distance in Imperial, I dont temperature in Imperial - that's either Celsius or Kelvin, I dont work in any scientific unit in anything other than metric, I dont torque bolts in anything other than metric..... my clothes are also in metric. Thence, as there is no need in real life, it's not ignorant. It's irrelavent.

I learned SOLIDWORKS in metric. That has changed my entire outlook on life. Except for l/100km. That's dumb. My brain is still in MPG or even MPL. Having it be "consumption per ARBITRARY NUMBER" is dumb. "Distance based on unit purchased" jives better in my head.

Chermany loves their liter per 100, but at least all of Scandinavia is km/l, which obviously is equivalent to MPG just with a scaling factor.

We're gradually moving to liters/100km as well. This reminds me of the time that young, naive me got asked to skim "a couple of tenths" off of a part that wouldn't assemble, so I duly put it up on the lathe and knocked 0.2" off the diameter. Till that point I had never heard of tenths of a thou, I just remember being stood at the lathe thinking it seemed like too big a cut for what we were trying to achieve. It assembled easily enough afterwards though!
