Juan Carlos III posted:Holy poo poo post content Sure thing! Fox News: Andy Puzder to withdraw his nomination for Labor Secretary This was, at the time I checked it last night, the only thread I saw about it. First, all the "Good we hated him anyway." quote:I hate this method of politics by personal ruination, but if we had to lose one cabinet member, I’m glad it was Puzder. Not the right man for the job. quote:A lot of FReepers nailed him for being an illegal alien sympathizer as soon as he was nominated. quote:Good. That was a bad appointment to start. He ruined Carl Karcher Enterprises and he hired illegal aliens. What’s not to dislike? quote:Good, he was an advocate for amnesty for illegal aliens and their employers. quote:Oh no! Not Puzder. What will we do with out open border Puzder. quote:He’s only a recent, and potentially politically motivated, convert to the Trump’s key notion that flooding the market with unskilled laborers is unfair to the supply-and-demand market forces on labor; he was a big fan of the Gang of Eight amnesty. quote:I don't always root for a Trump nominee to be jettisoned. quote:This is GOOD NEWS!!! Alright enough of that. There are, however, some Freepers who are actually slightly upset about this and were supportive of Puzder. quote:He was criticized for hiring an illegal maid and being weak of immigration, but he would not be in charge of immigration as Labor Secretary. quote:Sh*t! quote:Uh....the position is for Labor Sec.....Not Prez! quote:drat those democrats. First Flynn. Now Puzder. Who will they get next? Oh it's that old chestnut "People hate him so that means he's doing something right." quote:I had criticized the pick of Puzder at the the time, but I found out just recently that he’s very pro-life. I know that’s not related to his job, but I think that speaks to his character. The Democrats were opposed to him as well, so he had to be doing something right. Jesus loving Christ this one took me by surprise when I was scrolling down. quote:At this point, the Democrats (and GOPe) are doing every thing they can to stymie the Trump agenda. He would be better off bypassing the confirmation process and establish a “board of directors” and conduct business. These kind of posts amuse me. "Gee! Trump is sure doing a lot of dumb and incompetent things! That's pretty weird! I wonder what the reason is?" quote:How can he be a serious candidate for the position, when he employed an illegal alien, and then after three years, once he and the Mrs. “discover” she’s an illegal, they pay back taxes and begin the process of helping her become legal? Pay back taxes? Why not be paying taxes all along, then, if they assumed she was legal? What am I missing here? One would think the Trump team vetted this man, with this particular problem, before putting him up for nomination. Either they didn’t vet him enough, or they knew this about him going in. Either way, they were/are derelict in how they handled this nominee. quote:Was sunk by his illegal alien nanny. quote:Might be a small part of it, but the Flynn thing is not the kind of thing that makes people willing to take a high profile high stress position. Just the mere perception (true or not) that Trump didn’t steadfastly back Flynn is going to potentially be a problem. A bit of insane religious rambling. quote:The slime of the liberals, commies, homos, socialists, dimocrats, etc. is the only way they even can come close to winning anything is this crap they do. If they cannot get at the person they want to kill, then they go after his or her family members. That is the way slime operates. One day, and I think not in the too distant future, the Lord God of Heaven will deal with these people in the Tribulation and then at the Great White Throne. They may THINK they are getting away with their crap, but one day, The Lord Jesus Christ will deal with them. They deny Him now, but the book of Revelation clearly tells us that at a future point they will hit their knees and will admit that HE IS INDEED LORD, GOD, CREATOR, SAVIOR, AND JUDGE!!! The Lake of Fire awaits all who have denied Him. And finally, two depressing statements. quote:no biggie..as long as he gets Pruitt in at EPA...then he’ll have all the important ones in place quote:Let the hyenas chew on some stray carcass now and then, meanwhile:

I'm doing a Let's Read of Superhawks, a pulp action series started in 2004 by Mack Maloney. The guy's a pulp author who made awful Crimson Skies-meets-Cold War books back in the 80s and 90s, and his brain kinda broke after 9/11 and he went hard right. It's like a Freep novel. The protagonists justify committing terrorist attacks against Middle Eastern civilians (culminating in poisoning the product of a major fruit supplier and killing thousands because the fruit company is an Al Qaeda front) by saying that they have to be "just as bad as the terrorists" to scare them away from terrorism. Someone in the thread mentioned that they realize why Trump got elected after reading the book.

In case you were wondering what freep thought about today's shitshow of a press conference, Journo twitter is in general agreement - his base ate up the vomit he spewed and then sat down to circlejerk about his treatment of the press. There doesn't seem to be any recognition whatsoever about any of the objectively demonstrable lies, and even the most absurd moments are just perfectly fine to them. They like that he's a blithering idiot, and they're even conditioning themselves to like it when their instincts tell them otherwise. quote:To: Yaelle

This is why the Republicans are just too far gone. If Trump was an rear end in a top hat to everyone and lied obviously but clever about it or at least funny it would be one thing; you can be proud of getting one over on people. However he's just flailing around and looks unhinged and unprepared. They have been so trained to lap up whatever diarrhea they are fed by their media that it literally doesn't matter what they see, their brain will just auto correct everything for them. I don't think there's really any saving those people at this point, they are just too deep in the cult to deprogram on the scale required.

This thread seems to be hurting for content, so I took a dive. Trump-Hatred of Sanctimonious Jews Empowering Anti-Semites Thread is about an American Thinker article trying desperately to blame American Jews for antisemitism, and do apologetics for antisemites. First, a bit from the article. quote:With the American public hearing Jews vigorously condemn Israel, and then condemn Trump, dismissing the legitimization of the election results while at the same time inflaming the public discourse with vulgar language, it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that these Jews are evoking antisemitism and empowering anti-Semites. With this being the current environment, then taking the short leap to single out Jews as responsible for the uncertainty and confusion felt by the American public during the post-election period is inevitable. Naturally, Freep loves it. quote:“Stands with Muslims and immigrants” quote:Yeah...you have to admit, when liberal Jews are so vocal about supporting all the things that are destroying this country, it definitely fuels the “Jews are destroying America” thesis held by some. Oddly, the main trend in the responses are "neo-nazis? What neo-nazis?!" quote:I know the author means well but where are all these neo-Nazi marches he talks about? Can someone provide a link? I’m talking about America. quote:
quote:“Over the past months, there have been 57 bomb threats to 48 Jewish Community Centers, a number of neo-Nazi marches in a number of states, and swastikas have been reported throughout the United States at a rate unseen in recent times.” And finally, a bunch show up to spout literal Nazi propaganda. quote:They are not Jews, they are Bolsheviks. Nearly the entire leadership of the Bolshevik army during the 1916 Russian revolution identified as atheist Jews. quote:In Europe, before the Holocaust, Jews generally fell into one of two camps: One was the Zionists, who advocated for the establishment of a Jewish homeland in then-Palestine. The other were “Bundists” who were mostly atheistic Communists who wanted worldwide Communism, and abhorred the thought of a separate Jewish homeland. And a few more hilariously horrible posts. quote:These idiots would have pranced, not walked, into the gas chambers to show how trendy and cool they were. They are absolutely disgusting JINOs, if they are even Jews at all. They have no religious identity except maybe an affinity for bagels. It is incorrect to take their warped viewpoints as representative of Jews. quote:Frankly, the thought of LIBERAL, America-hating Jews invoking the “Never Again” theme in their rabid self-hating behavior is incomprehensible. Not a single one called it out on being horrible bullshit trying to lay antisemitism at the feet of Jews for not sitting down and shutting up.
