Spatula City posted:Also, Netflix is trying to produce content for, it seems like, every conceivable niche. Some of those niches encompass people with very lousy taste in television. And some of those shows that are agreed to be "bad" are judged so by people who are in no way the show's target audience, like how people savaged Fuller House. I didn't watch Fuller House because it sounds like hot trash but on MBMBAM they talked about it some and I will admit that I appreciate the sheer Dumbness of DJ Tanner being resentful that her younger sister became a successful DJ.

Season 2 of Bloodline is very good stuff, and I went into it thinking it would be terrible for obvious reasons.

I liked Bloodline, but I'm still unsure if the "scenes of the future" style was the right choice for it.

That's all the creative team does. It's the same boring stretched out BS in their previous show Damages. Oh poo poo he got on the bus I guess he's leaving. *2 episodes later* Oh he didn't get on the bus. Oh snap!

The final season of Bates Motel starts up in 4 days. I'm catching up on it now, I finished season 3 and am a few eps into 4. The show has always been great but holy gently caress, it's been ramping up fantastically and I'm pretty confident things are gonna get super nuts in the best ways. Freddy Highmore and Vera Farmiga are phenomenal.

Escobarbarian posted:This is so loving hysterical if you skipped my original post go back and click on that poo poo right now It's cute, but they're too sincere and well-meaning to be as hysterical with the format as something like Nathan for You or Review. Maybe they'll grow into it more, but Monster Factory and Car Boys were amazing from episode one. e. "Tarantulas: The Dogs of Spiders" and "Everybody leave the parade now, but make sure you all go in different directions because otherwise then it's just a continuation of the parade and we don't want that" were both gold, though. This comes up often enough that now when people get the Netflix rating wrong I just assume they're trying to get a rise out of us. Isn't Netflix notoriously tight-lipped about their viewer data? How would putting popularity ratings next to every video jive with that?
